Can we go for Kareri Lake trek in Winter?

Yes. However, winters are the least favourable time of the year to attempt the Kareri Lake Trek, particularly for novice and amateur trekkers. But if you are someone who has trudged through tough terrains, Kareri Lake would be a fun and gratifying experience.

Best Time to go for the trek and what to expect:

The ideal time to plan a trekking trip to Kareri Lake is from April till December. These months cover summer, monsoon and pleasant winter seasons in the region. With every different month, you can see a dramatically different sight of the landscapes in the region.

Summers: This time of the year displays the trails in spell-binding lush greenery and vibrancy of other verdure. The weather conditions also remain comfortable for covering larger distances with ease.

Monsoons: A bit daunting to partake in monsoon, the Kareri Lake would require a bit more preparation and commitment during this season but would leave you enchanted with satisfying vistas of verdant vegetation that sprouts with heavy rains. The night time temperatures can drop to sub-zero but the days are nice and enjoyable.

Winters: This is when the entire trail gets covered in snow and the lake freezes completely. Although, the downside of this season is the equally freezing temperatures and a more asking trail, especially at night. But if you can get past it, the trek is a complete vision
