The Coit Tower, alternatively known as the Coit Memorial Tower is a tower located in Telegraph Hill, San Francisco. This tower was built between 1932 and 1933 in an attempt to beautify the city. The locals believe that the tower was built to honour the volunteer firemen who lost their lives in the 5 major fire accidents of San Francisco.
