The Gajner Palace is situated on the embankment of the Gajner Lake. For its splendid architecture, the Gajner Palace is often referred to as ‘Jewel of the Thar Desert’. The palace is built out of red sandstone and showcases splendid specimens of intricate carving on the pillars, screens and Jharokhas. A part of the hotel is now being used as a heritage hotel.
Another major attraction of Gajner is the Lalgarh Palace. The Lalgarh Palace is a fine example of intricate architectural patterns and has been built by blending European architectural style with the Indo-Saracen style. The palace was built for Maharaja Ganga Singh. He named it after his father Maharaja Lall Singh. Two wings of the hotel are now being run as a heritage hotel by Maharaja Ganga Singh’s daughter Princess Rajyashree Kumari.
The Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary is a major attraction for wildlife lovers all over the country and the world. It is situated at a distance of 32 kilometers from Bikaner. The sanctuary was used as a hunting ground by the Maharaja of Bikaner. The site is being proposed for the reintroduction of Cheetah in India.
