About the Destination:

Discovered in 1931 by a group of mountaineers on their return journey, the Valley of Flowers is truly a paradise for the trek fanatics. A flat stretch of colourful meadow in the lap of the Himalayas, it is the home to some of the rare and exotic flowers, orchids and seasonal delights.

Spreading around 88km, it attains a height of 3,600m. The Valley of Flowers tour is considered as an easy gradient and is thronged by trekkers from all over the world. The mesmeric beauty and the essence of the Himalayan range has gained Valley of Flowers the stature of being a UNESCO World Heritage Site.


  • Day 1 -

    Drive from Haridwar to Joshimath (via Devprayag)

    Following your arrival in Haridwar, get reenergised with a delicious breakfast and get prepared for an exhilarating drive to Joshimath. The drive will take you through the scenic vistas and winding passes of Devprayag, where the Bhagirathi River meets the Alaknanda River. Also the origin of the holy Ganges, this region is considered sacred by the Hindu devotees.

    Arriving in Joshimath by evening, check-in into a hotel and unwind the tiredness of the long journey. After getting refreshed, you can also go for a local sightseeing tour and witness some of the most popular temples in the region; Nav Durga and Narsingh temples are the most popular two! Overnight stay will be in the hotel.

  • Day 2 -

      Drive from Joshimath to Govindghat (26km/1 Hour), Trek from Govindghat to Ghangaria 

    After today’s breakfast, take a short drive to Govindghat, which serves as the origin of this amazing Valley of flowers trek. The trek from Govindghat is a gradual one and the trails are well-maintained; you can expect an easier trek all along the 14km trail! Arriving in Ghangria, check-in into the camp and get settle down for the day. If you wish to, you can go for a bit of exploration of the surroundings and return to the camp before it gets dark; overnight stay in the camp.

  • Day 3 -

     Trek from Ghangaria – Valley of Flowers – Ghangaria (5km each way)

    Today is the day, you will witness the miraculous valley! After breakfast in the camp, start trekking towards the Valley of Flowers. Once you gain an altitude of 3,858m above the sea level, you will finally be standing amidst the enchanting flowers in the valley!

    Spend pleasant time admiring, embracing and adoring the mesmeric beauty of this 10km long valley. If you are a shutterbug, this is the place you need to be, at least once in your lifetime! You can also witness the stunning beauty of the Pushpawati stream that divides the valley and start trekking back to Ghangaria campsite; overnight stay in the camp.

  • Day 4 -

    Trek from Ghangaria - Hemkund Sahib – Ghangaria (6km each way)

    After having breakfast in the camp, embark on a trek towards Hemkund Sahib (4,329m); expect steep climb on the way. A sacred spot for the Sikhs, Hemkund Sahib is said to be the meditating ground of Guru Gobind Singh and is visited by thousands of followers every year. All the way to the holy spot, enjoy the enchanting beauty of the snow-capped mountains and the charismatic beauty of the vicinity. Late afternoon, start trekking back to the campsite; overnight stay in the camp.

  • Day 5 -

    Trek from Ghangaria – Govind Ghat – Joshimath (26km/1 Hour by Road)

    Today morning, a short down trek will take you back to Govind Ghat, from where you will be driven back to Joshimmath. Arriving in Joshimath, check-in into a hotel and retire for the day.

  • Day 6 -

    Drive from Joshinath to Haridwar

    Waking up in the morning, get refreshed and reenergised with a delicious breakfast. Post this, pack your bags as it will be time to depart Joshimath and drive back to Haridwar. With your arrival in Haridwar, this amazing Valley of Flowers trek will come to an end.

    Wao What a view it was!!!!! Can you imagine millions of species of flowers such as saxifrags, sediams, lilies, poppy, calendular, daisies, geranium, zinnia and petunia all at one place!!! sounds exciting right??? Thats exactly hw i felt when i first heared about the place, i was very desperate to make a visit there. we went there with my best friend,clicked hundreds of photos, wao it was so nice to be there. in could feel the aroma of the enchanting place, its wonderful. The place is surrounded by the Himalayas mountains, like someone is trying to protect those beautiful flowers. Its the most attractive place i had ever seen.

    For a nature lover, there can not be a better place than this, i can guarantee that! The valley of flowers is place everyone will certainly and entirely love. for me the only setback is its too far from my location. but one thing i can say is just dont miss this one otherwise you will never find the heaven on earth!!!

    Just can not wait to visit again!!! we are planning to go in our next anniversary, The money spent on this trip was worth it.there are some other places also in the nearby where you can spend good times. i forgot the name of a restaurant there, it was damn good. i can not forget the taste of the meals offered there.

    i saw the heaven on earth in form of valley of flowers, yea!! i had seen such views in hindi bollywood movies only and it was my fortune tat i saw such an amazing place in my life. i will take my entire family there. Just hope to visit soon!!

    Paradise on earth or the orchids of fragnances!!! My mother still takes its name, she always use to say that we should go ther again, it was last year when i had gone there with my entire family and sinc then everyone from our family has been a great fan of valley.

    Wao the nature unlimited filled with Fresh Air, colorful flowers, aroma, clear white water streams and rivers, cool water of melting glaciers. its a complete treat for a nature lover like me.i wonder how i missed this earlier. i should have visited this place much earlier. I took may photographs but you know the beauty cant be observed with a tiny frame, its all about feeling with eyes, not just watching them.
