Haridwar - Joshimath /Auli (245 kms/8-9 hrs)
Early morning drive uphill to Joshimath via Devprayag.
On the way visit Devprayag to witness the confluence of rivers Bhagirathi and Alaknanda, from where the holy river Ganges started.
Upon arrival at Joshimath, check into the guest house/camps set up.
Dinner will be served and retire early for the day so that you are energetic for the trek.
Joshimath/Auli - Govindghat (22 kms/1 hrs) - Ghangaria (17 kms/3-4 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Govindghat and follow the trek trail which zigzags its way through an ascending valley of apricot forests and terraced fields.
From Govindghat there is a gradual ascent along a well-maintained pilgrim trail to Ghangaria.
Cross the Bhyundar valley along the Laxman ganga river bank.
Upon arrival at Ghangaria, check into camps setup.
Explore the surroundings in the evening.
Dinner and overnight stay at the camps.
Ghangaria - Valley of Flowers and back to Ghangaria (5 kms one side/4- 5 hrs)
Post breakfast, walk to the Valley of Flowers (3858 m) from Ghangaria.
After about 3 kms, you will reach a little stream from where the valley commences.
It is an enchanting sight with an impressive array of rare wildflowers like Geranium, Marsh marigold, Prinula, Potentilla, Geum, Asters, Lilium, Ranunculus, Corydalis, Inula, Braham kamal, Campanula, Pedicularis, Arisaema, Morina, Impatiens, Bistorta, Anaphalis, Saxifrages, Sibbaldia, Thermo- psis, Trollius, Codonopsis, Dactylorhiza, Cypripedium, Strawberry, Epilobium, Rhododendrons and numerous others.
Most of the flowers have medicinal values too.
The valley is 10 kms long, 2 kms wide, and is divided by the Pushpawati stream, into which several tiny streams and waterfalls merge.
After enjoying the beauty of valley, trek back to Ghangaria.
Stay overnight at camps.
The next day, leave for Hemkund Sahib (4329 m) from Ghangaria.
This is quite a steep climb.
In the holy book, The Granth Sahib, the Sikh Guru Gobind Singh recounts that in a previous life, he meditated on the shores of a lake surrounded by seven snow-capped mountains now recognized as Hemkund.
Today’s trek includes difficult terrain and the weather is almost susceptible to rainfall.
In the afternoon, trek back to Ghangaria and stay overnight there.
Ghangaria - Govindghat – Joshimath
After breakfast, trekdown to reach Govindghat and from here drive to Joshimath/Auli.
Upon arrival at Joshimath, check into the hotel/camps.
Rest of the day is free to explore the area.
Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at the hotel/camp.
Get a drive from Auli to Haridwar.
On the way visit Rudraprayag where river Mandakini and Alaknanda meet.
Arrive Rishikesh/Haridwar by evening and the trip gets concluded by then.
