About the trek:

Perched at a towering height of 14,245 ft above sea level, the spectacular Indrahar Pass lies at the border between breathtaking Kangra and Chamba districts. Though a short one, this trek is considered to be a bit challenging as the trekking trail consists of numerous sharp ascents and steep climbs. This is one of the most fascinating treks that Himachal has to offer. Owing to the magnificent view of the might Dhauladhar, the lush green valleys, and the exotic flora and fauna will truly leave you awestruck. The path passes by the placid crystal blue waters of Lake Mankiani and Kareri. Hike through the steep passing mostly through the lush green landscapes of the Dhauladhar Range, this challenging yet tempting trek takes about 4 days to complete.

How to reach:

The starting point of the trek is Delhi and it is well connected with domestic and international flights from all the major cities within and outside India. Also, the railway and road networks connect Delhi to all the major cities in India.

Indrahar Pass Trek From Delhi Itinerary

Day 1
Delhi to Mcleodganj | Overnight Journey to the Mountains
  • Start your adventurous journey by boarding an evening Semi Sleeper AC Volvo bus/Tempo traveller/Sedan car/SUV car (depending on the group size) from Delhi.
  • Overnight stay in the bus.


Day 2
Trek from McLeod Ganj to Triund
  • Arrive at the Bhagsu Nag Taxi Stand before 10:00 AM and begin this adventurous trekking experience.
  • The trek takes you through the Bhagsu falls, which is the biggest waterfall in Mcleodganj. You can relax here for a while and fill up your water bottles with fresh water as you mesmerise the beauty of the place.
  • Reach to the campsite at Leta/Mana Village where you can unload the burden of your bags. You can have some snacks at a tea shack in the village (at your own expense) and get back to the journey.
  • Reach to the top at around 2:30 PM and embrace the glorifying views that this place offers.
  • After embracing panoramic views for an hour or two, start descending down.
  • Trek down towards the campsite at Leta/Mana village and reach the destination and take a break after a tiresome day.
  • Check into the camps at Leta/Mana Village and enjoy some leisure time.
  • Enjoy the fun chit-chat session during the bonfire along with dinner (around 8 PM) with some soothing music to accompany you.
  • Retire for the day and gather your strength for the next day.


Day 3
Trek to the Laka Glacier
  • Wake up with breakfast and an amazing view of the mighty Himalayas.
  • The first phase of today's trek will take you to the fascinating Lahesh Caves which are located at a height of 3,500m above sea level.
  • It is always advisable to cross the cave during the early part of the day as by afternoon, the terrains, as well as the weather, might get a bit challenging and risky as well.
  • Trekking further, you will be passing through the Snowline Cafe and will reach Ilaqa Got, the final destination for the day after around one hour from the cafe.
  • In case, you find it hard to manage a camping ground in Ilaqa Got, you will be guided back to the caves
  • Overnight stay in camps.
Day 4
Trek from Lahesh Caves – Indrahar Pass – Ilaqa Got
  • WAke with breakfast and head ahead to Indrahar Pass.
  • Today, you will cover the most exciting part of the trek as you will be trekking to the much-awaited Indrahar Pass!
  • Today's trek through the rocky terrains from Lahesh Caves will take you to the enchanting Indrahar Pass (4,300m).
  • Witness and enjoy the panoramic views of the Dhauladhar Range and other Himalayan peaks from the pass and start trekking back to Ilaqa Got for an overnight stay.
Day 5
Trek from Ilaqa Got to McLeodGanj
  • On the last day of the trek to Indrahar Pass, you will be following the trails you trekked on the first and second day.
  • A gradual trek of around 4 hours will finally take you back to McLeod Ganj.
  • With your arrival in McLeod Ganj head back to Delhi.
Day 6
Reach Delhi in the Morning | Say Goodbye to the Mountains
  • Reach back to Delhi in the morning.
  • Once you arrive in Delhi, your serene trekking experience ends on a beautiful note
