Visa Requirements

For Indian travelers planning a visit to Iceland, obtaining a Schengen visa is a prerequisite for tourism, business, or family visits. This visa allows a maximum stay of 90 days within 180 days. A Schengen visa for Iceland costs approximately INR 7,349.99 for adults and INR 3,675.86 for children aged 6-12.

To initiate the application process, applicants must electronically pre-register on the website of the Icelandic Directorate of Immigration. After completing the pre-registration process, applicants submit their applications and the required documents at the Visa Application Centre. Required documents include a completed application form, a valid Indian passport, travel insurance, proof of accommodation, two recent photographs, a cover letter, a return flight ticket, and proof of financial means, in addition to the visa fee.

The visa processing time is generally 15 days however may extend to 30 or, in some cases, 60 days. Applicants may be required to attend an interview at a VFSGlobal centre located in cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru.
