The Kolar district of Karnataka promises a jaw-dropping sight of the Shathashrunga range and Anthargange is another rocky hill range that basks at a height of 1712 meters from sea level. There are no lodging options at Anthargange so one can either pitch a tent while night trekking or can stay at Bangalore and embark on a day trekking tour at Anthargange.

Visited Anthargange Cave, one of the best cave explorations out there. The overall journey was very smooth except for the difficult part of getting in and out of the caves. Thrillophilia has hosted this short trip with no negativities to point out on.

"outstanding experience. had done this with my 13year old daughter as she wanted to try one such. very well managed by the team. though i wasn't sure if they had everything handy to deal-with in case of any eventuality. anyways, as an adventure.. this was Huge!"

The place is superb but the guides were not. The bus was supposed to pick up at 12:00 am but came after 12:30 am, but that was still manageable. Bus journey was good to the hills. Once we reached the destination we were guided the route and the best part was cave exploration which one should be very careful, here the guide was missing. If one can not accomodate people then please do not take in new bookings. The batch was supposed to be 40 on Saturday but it was around in 100, they didn't even provide the sticks or the sleeping bag. All folks got to hear is the numbers are high so they didn't bring any sleeping bags or even the sticks. Pls do... Read More

All in all I enjoyed the trek, but mostly because I was the only American among 30 or so Indians and I was more interested in talking than actually trekking. The bus pickup was somewhat haphazard and very behind schedule. We also got lost in Kolar for about an hour driving around on impossibly narrow back streets, finally arriving at the trailhead after 2AM. The trek to the cave, though the cave, and back was not much more than a mile (less than 2km) according to my GPS - much less than I expected. There were three "guides" - I think - and while they did lead us safely to the cave, through the cave, and back, then up to the sleeping area... Read More
