About the Destinations: Leh, in the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir is where one can experience a heavily influenced Tibetan culture. Needless to mention, fondly referred to as Little Tibet, this land of Lamas is known for its barren yet stunning landscapes, brightly painted gompas, fluttering colourful prayer flags dotting the entire land, rugged mountains and a contrasting imagery with snow-peaked Himalayas in the far background.

The erstwhile capital of the Himalayan Kingdom of Ladakh, Leh is attractive for its innumerable offerings. From monasteries to high altitude passes, the region gives the world its highest motorable road, a natural phenomenon defying gravity in the form of Magnetic Hill, and a high altitude water body the Pangong Lake stretching for over 130km.

A tryst with Leh is surely a once in a lifetime experience. Presenting a wide variety of episodes from challenging long distance trekking, fantastic campsites, thrilling road trips, and a wonderful slice of natural beauty Leh truly makes Ladakh amazing.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Arrival at Leh from Delhi/Mumbai

    Naga Parbat, K2, Gasherbrum, Leh Market, Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace

    Your arrival at the Leh Airport will be welcomed with enthralling views of the distant peaks like K2, Nanga Parbat and Gasherbrum. Following your arrival, you will be checked-in into a hotel, where you can spend the day getting acclimatised to the climate. Come evening, visit the local delights like Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa and the Leh Market; overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Day 2 - Leh Exploration, Sham Valley Excursion

    Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, Rivers, Spituk Monastery

    After today’s breakfast, embark along the Indus River Indus and continue downstream towards the Leh-Kargil Highway. On your way, visit the Hall of Fame and pay your tribute to the valorous soldiers of the Kargil War. Post this, make it to the Gurudwara Patthar Sahib and seek blessings from the Gods.

    Driving further for around 4 hours, you will reach the gravity defying Magnetic Hill and finally the confluence point of the Indus and Zanskar rivers. Spend some delightful moments at these places and proceed towards the sacred Spituk Monastery, which dates back to 15th century. By evening, return back to the hotel and spend overnight.

  • Day 3 - Drive from Leh to Nubra Valley (via Khardung La Pass (18,390ft)) (120km/4-5 Hours)

    Khardung La Pass, Zanskar range, River Indus, Village Tours

    Post breakfast in Leh, get started with a drive towards Khardung La Pass, the highest motorable pass in the world. Enjoy the panoramic views of the might Himalayas; the Zanskar Range, Saser Massif and the Indus River makes it for an astounding experience!

    Continuing with your drive, you will be advancing towards the stunning Nubra Valley, which is also known as ‘Ldumra’ or the ‘Valley of Flowers’. Situated around 10,000ft above the sea level, this valley will be your resting ground for the day followed by a visit to the quaint villages and local homes.

  • Day 4 - Return trip from Nubra Valley to Leh

    Hunder Village, Camel Safari, Sand Dunes, Diskit Monastery

    Waking up in the morning, you will be driving towards the Hunder Village, where you can indulge in activities like camel safaris, sand dune visits and fun amidst the snow desert.

    Post this, continue driving towards Leh with a halt at Diskit and visit to the 515 years old Diskit Monastery. While in here, you can also visit the local markets and witness the lively cultures of high altitudes. Upon arrival in Leh, check-in into a hotel and retire for the night.

  • Day 5 - Drive from Leh to Pangong Lake (140km/4-5 Hours; each way)

    Shey Palace, Thiksey, Changla Pass, Tangtse, Pangong Lake

    Today, after an early morning breakfast, embark on an enthralling journey to Pangong Lake followed by a visit to the Shey Palace. Driving further, you will reach Thiksey, a stunning complex on a summit.

    Post this, proceed towards the Changla Pass (5,486m) and follow the winding roads till you reach Sakti Village. On your way, take enough time to enjoy the amazing views; be a shutterbug for the day, and advance towards the Tangtse hamlet and get refreshed with a cup of tea.

    Continuing further from here, you will finally reach the Pangong Lake; check-in into a camp beside the lake and adore the pristine ambience and scenic beauty around you with an overnight stay.

  • Day 6 - Return journey from Pangong Lake to Leh (140km/6 Hours)

    Hemis Gompa

    Begin the day leisurely and feast your eyes on the scenic splendours of the Pangong Lake. Post this, start with the drive back to Leh followed by a visit to the Hemis Gompa. The largest among the monasteries, it is known for its colourful and bucolic essence. Arrive in Leh by evening, you can take a walk through the marketplace and get indulge in local shopping; overnight stay in the hotel.

  • Day 7 - Flight from Leh to Delhi/Mumbai

    Tour Ends Here

    After breakfast and checking-out from hotel, you will be dropped at the airport. Well, this marks the end of this amazing Ladakh tour!
