IRPU Waterfalls

The waterfalls of IRPU are a perfect place to relax and unwind in the popular Coorg. The falls rise from the Brahmagiri and are as high as 52 meters. The majestic waterfalls splash across the forested area making the surroundings beautiful and marvelous. On the mountain of Brahmagiri is located the wildlife sanctuary by the same name.

 The waterfall of IRPU was formed when Laxman shot an arrow in the mountains creating the river Laxman Tirtha while searching for Sita. The waters here have religious importance as people think it washes away the sins of people. Fir the adventure crazy, IRPU falls is a great place to trek and explore. Coffee plantations, orange and spices are an attraction on this hill. There is a Rameshwara temple here which contains the shivalingam.This place also promotes ecotourism and homestays. One can enjoy nature at its best by living in places like these. One can visit this place in the post monsoons from November to February.

    You might want to check the top picture. It looks like Abbey Falls not Irrupu.
