How to reach:

  • By Air: Gaggal Airport, also known as Kangra Airport, is located in Dharamshala. Well-connected to major cities like Delhi, Kullu, and Chandigarh.
  • By Road: State-owned and private buses provide connectivity to McLeod Ganj. Routes include Delhi, Chandigarh, and Dharamshala.
  • By Rail: The nearest railway station is Pathankot Railway Station. Located around 90 km away from McLeod Ganj.

Triund Trek Itinerary

Day 1
Mcleodganj - Triund 9 Kms walk Via Dharamkot to Galu temple.

Embark on a 9 Km trek from McLeod Ganj to Triund (2875m) via Dharamkot to Galu Temple. The 4-hour ascent through a mixed forest leads to Triund, with Magic View Chai Shop as a refreshing midway stop. After 2 more hours, check into cozy camps at Triund, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views.

Activity: Triund Trek
  • Begin your trek from Bhagsu Nag.
  • Steep ascent for a 4-hour trek to a mixed forest of oak, rhododendron, and deodar trees to Triund.
  • Stop at Magic View, one of the oldest chai shop, midway to Triund.
  • Once you reach the camp on top of a ridge, from where you can have superb views of the peaks of the Dhauladhar range and Kangra valley.
Day 2
Triund to Snowline and back to Bhagsu Nag

After breakfast, start the hike to Snow Line, the trek's highlight, with close views of Lake Glacier and Dhauladhar peaks. Return to Triund for an optional lunch. Descend to Bhagsu Nag, passing the scenic Bhagsu waterfall. The trek concludes at Bhagsu Nag; drive to your next destination.

Activity: Back to Bhagsu Nag
  • Walk up to the snowline, the main attraction of this trek, and have a close view of Laka Glacier.
  • Walk back to Triund, One can enjoy Lunch at Triund
  • Enroute to come across Bhagsu waterfall

More Details about Triund Trek

Know Before You Go for Triund Trek

  • All the activities depend upon the weather.
  • Keep your luggage minimum; the more you carry, the more you hassle.
  • Guidelines issued by the State-Government are to be followed. Social distancing to be maintained. Frequent hand sanitisation and use of mask recommended.
  • Please carry a valid ID proof at the time of the activity.
  • Since its difficult to provide all the facilities in the mountains, one must not expect luxuries. Electricity may be available only at a few locations.
  • Bonfire would be dependent on weather conditions.
  • In case of bad weather any Govt restriction, the campsite location might change to Dharamkot
  • Any personal expenses, items of personal nature, meals not mentioned, etc. will not be in part of the Triund trek package.
  • Carry dry snacks/food from home. Carry water bottles with you, so that you can refill.
  • The management reserves all the right to modify the triund trek during any emergencies or natural calamities.
  • The Triund trek takes place through an eco-friendly zone; do not encourage littering the local sites or campsites. Travellers littering may be fined.
  • Children below the age of 7 years are not recommended for Triund trek.
  • It is recommended to carry season wise clothes and the right kind of shoes for the Triund trek.
