Know Before You Go for Kinnaur & Spiti Tour From Delhi

  • Minimum 2 people are required to book this tour.
  • For safety purposes, this tour is not recommended for women who are more than 3 months pregnant, anyone that has had major surgery, or has a broken leg/arm, has chronic back or neck pains, etc.
  • Climatic conditions in the high altitudes vary from the plains; it is advisable that you take adequate time to get acclimatized to high altitudes.
  • Consult a physician before undertaking the tour. Carry basic medications and a first-aid kit during the tour.
  • It is recommended to carry enough warm clothes and the right kind of shoes for the tour. The advisable baggage weight is 60 litres as you might have to carry the luggage to the backup vehicle, the accommodation, etc.
  • Rates may fluctuate with any change in services/hotels. The difference in the cost shall be borne by the client in case of any amendment in the package due to an increase in the number of guests, hotel change, etc., before the beginning of the trip.
  • The hotels are subject to their availability. In case they are not available, the travellers will be accommodated in a property of similar standard.
  • Thrillophilia reserves the right to rearrange the itinerary due to any kind of disturbance that occurred (i.e weather condition, political condition or any others) without changing the total number of days and without compromising any service.
  • Liability for change in itinerary due to reasons beyond our control like a change in flight and train schedule, cancellation of flights/trains, political disturbances, natural phenomenon, roadblocks, etc. will not be accommodated in the package cost. No bill will be reimbursed for any missed service/facility.
  • Because of any reason natural or personal, if the tour or a particular activity is not completed, no refund will be processed.
  • Pay heed to the tour guides and instructors in order to enjoy a safe and sound tour.
  • All entry tickets for stupas, monasteries, sightseeing, state and entry fees, monument entrances, camera charges, permits, etc. are not a part of the package.
  • GST is applicable to the package cost.
  • Any personal expenses or items of personal nature will not be included in the package. Any meals or transfers not mentioned in the itinerary are to be considered an exclusion in the deal. Any kind of drink (alcoholic, aerated, or mineral water) is not included in the package cost.
  • Avoid using plastic bags and maintain the ecological balance of the destinations. Travellers littering may be fined.
  • Usage of the swimming pool at any accommodation is strictly according to government guidelines.
  • The exact location will be shared with you post-booking.
  • Carry dry snacks/food, granola bars, etc. from home. Carry a regular and another insulated water bottle with you, so that you can refill.
  • All international and domestic airfare, visa fees, airport tax or any kind of insurance cover is not a part of the package.
  • Carry enough cash as the number of ATMs in high-altitude regions are comparatively less and there are long queues at times.
  • Please note that BSNL and Airtel Postpaid mobile connections are operational and roaming Prepaid SIMs are non-functional in Ladakh.
  • We work with local guides and leaders who have the expertise of the region. They are fluent in Hindi and Ladakhi, and at times even English.
  • All the travellers are requested to carry a copy of their medical certificate (if any) with them.
  • Optional activities mentioned in the itinerary are not actually included in the package cost.
  • Transportation during the trip would be in Non AC & Non-Heater vehicles. Please wear clothes according to the weather while travelling.
  • If in case any traveller wants to or decides to leave the trip in the middle, all the expenses from that point onwards will be borne by the traveller. Neither the operator nor Thrillophilia will be held responsible for such decisions or for any refund.
  • Guidelines issued by the State-Government is to be followed. Social distancing to be maintained. Frequent hand sanitization and use of mask recommended.

Kinnaur & Spiti Tour From Delhi Itinerary

Day 1
Delhi to Shimla
  • Board the bus and travel overnight in an AC Volvo from Delhi to Shimla.
  • Tomorrow, you’ll wake up to the fresh lush greens and mesmerizing mountains in the Land of Gods - Himachal Pradesh.
Day 2
Shimla - Narkanda - Baga Sarahan
  • Reach Shimla in the morning.
  • Get picked up by a private vehicle and head towards Narkanda.
  • Escape the traffic of Shimla city and enjoy the scenic drive on your way to Narkanda.
  • Before we hit the road to Baga Sarahan, drive along Satluj River, witness Nirmand village (one of the largest in Himachal known for fabled temples), and Baga Sarahan forest and meadows.
  • Baga Sarahan is located in Kullu Manali. The mountains ranges, the ancient temple of sage Sahana Rishi and the beautiful stream are the main attractions.
  • The place has immense natural beauty. The natural tranquillity of the surrounding area was a pleasure for both children and the elderly.
  • The sheer climb is through the thick forests and the green meadows and waterfall are mesmerizing.
  • Reach the vast mountain meadows of Baga Sarahan.
  • Overnight stay at the camps at Baga Sarahan
Day 3
Baga Sarahan - Sangla - Chitkul
  • Drive to Sangla after a fulfilling breakfast. It will take around 6 hours to reach Sangla.
  • Check-in at hotel & proceed for Chitkul which is the last village on the Indian side on the Indo–Tibetan border.
  • Return back to Sangla & you will have plenty of time to enjoy the walk through Kamru and Sangla villages and talk to the locals and we will visit the beautifully carved old temples and Buddhist monasteries.
  • You will have plenty of opportunities to speak to the local people in these valleys, and our guide will be happy to interpret.
  • Come back to your hotel at Sangla.
  • Overnight stay in Sangla.
Day 4
Sangla - Nako
  • Have breakfast and check out from your hotel.
  • Visit Nako village where we can pay your visit to see the footprints of Padmasambhava.
  • As the village is very small in its area, one can easily explore the hidden gems of this village on foot.
  • The major attraction of Nako Village is Nako Lake which is located amidst extremely hilly terrains.
  • Close to this lake one can get to see four Buddhist monasteries and a huge foot-like impression.
  • Overnight stay at camp/hotel in Nako.
Day 5
Nako - Gue - Tabo - Dhankar - Kaza
  • After breakfast, start the journey to Kaza, head to the entry point of Spiti from the southern side- Sumdo where visitors stop at Gue to see the 550-year-old Mummy of a Monk.
  • Dhankar Monastery, Dhankar Village, and Monastery situated at an elevation of 3,894 metres (12,774feet) is the perfect setting for any monument in this world.
  • Continue drive to Kaza, on arrival check-in at hotel/Camp.
  • Overnight stay at Kaza.
Day 6
Kaza - Komik, Hikkim, Langza & Key-Khibber
  • Today, we will explore some very picturesque and some of the highest villages in the Valley.
  • We begin our day with a visit to Komic which is one of the highest motorable villages in the world and from atop the village you can enjoy the spectacular view of snow-capped peaks over a cup of tea.
  • Komic is also home to the Tangyud monastery belonging to people from the Sakya sect of Buddhism.
  • The monastery in Komic is functional in winters when temperatures dip down to -30 degrees and roads get blocked and it will be very interesting to understand the life and survival of such happy souls at this altitude.
  • Next, we visit the world’s highest post office in Hikkim and post a few postcards. (Collect them from us and write them in advance as there is a rush outside the post office most days). Trust us you will be amazed at the post office and meeting the postmaster.
  • Our last stop for the day Langza is also famous for its fossils. In the evening, you can go on a small fossil excursion around the village.
  • Later we head to Key Monastery, the centre of learning in Spiti valley. The monastery is set on a small hill from where you get a complete view of the valley.
  • A short hike from Khibber village is Chichum Bridge which is the highest bridge above sea level in Asia.
  • If you are up to it you can hike to the bridge, or even go by car.
  • In the evening, we head to Kaza for our night’s stay.
  • Overnight stay at Kaza.
Day 7
Kaza - Kalpa
  • After breakfast, head back towards Kalpa.
  • The main crop cultivated is apricots & apples and if travelling during harvest season, you can taste a bunch of fresh Kinnauri fruits.
  • Reach Kalpa and rest, you explore the village and the local temple and monastery if you are up to it.
Day 8
Kalpa - Shimla
  • Begin the journey to Shimla.
  • On your arrival in Shimla, we will give you the final drop at Volvo Bus Stand from where you are free to take your onward journey.

Day 9
Shimla - Delhi
  • Reach Delhi in the morning with loads of memories that you can cherish for a lifetime.
