Getting its strength from stone and character from wood, the stay is situated in the heart of the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary and draws its soul from the magnificent mountains draped in white. Built in the 1800s, this stay is a blend of British Colonial & Kumaoni Culture, enriched in a mythological & historical backdrop. The stay comprises 2 bedrooms, each with an attached washroom with a view of 500 km of unbroken Himalayan views and 50 sq km of lush forest.
Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is a world-renowned birding destination.
Go on a guided birdwatching tour and enjoy endless hours of birding. The mixed forest of oak,
rhododendron, cedar, cypress, and other indigenous species attracts over
200 species of birds. Right from the beautiful call of the Blue Whistling Thrush at 4 am to
the plaintive staccato of the Grey Nightjar at night, Pheasants,
Raptors, Woodpeckers, Flycatchers, and more are seen in Binsar. Apart from the birds in the sanctuary, one also gets to see Barking Deer, Fox, Porcupine, Flying Squirrel, Wild Boars, etc.
At the stay, guests can go on a nature walk around the stay, explore some beautiful viewpoints. Later, guests can spend the beautiful evening witnessing the magical sunset over the Himalayas and then by the fireplace feeling all the warmth with the family/friends.
How to reach:
The stay is in Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary around 20 km from Almora. A private car or cab would be the best mode of transportation to reach the stay.
