- Summer(December to April):
Summer is the best time to visit the Maldives considering the incessant monsoon showers peter out, leaving few occasional showers occurring at any time of the day. During these months, the temperature hovers between  27 and 29 degrees Celcius and the weather is not warm neither is the sun scorching. The water is warm, and the currents are low, making it perfect for swimming. The weather conditions are also ideal for scuba diving and snorkeling with the oceanic currents flowing from the northeast and making the water clear to spot shoals of reef fish and ray.

- Monsoon (May to November):
Monsoon is considered to be an off-season in the Maldives, owing to the incessant rainfall that the archipelago experiences at any time of the day. These months are, however, perfect to enjoy surfing and scuba diving as the rain is heavy, and the storms move fast through the archipelago. If you’re looking to explore this beautiful archipelago on a budget then these months can be an ideal time to visit this island nation as the prices of accommodation as well as the flights is much lower as compared to the other months.

- Winter season:
Since the Maldives is located close to the equator, there are no winter months in this archipelago. The Maldives only experiences wet and dry seasons throughout the year.
