Nag Tibba Trek is a weekend trek and can be easily accessed from nearby places as Dehradun is well connected. The first half day was journey in the traveller from Dehradun to Pantwari (Base village to start the trek). I will suggest you to take Anti Altitude sickness or anti vomiting tablets to avoid vomiting on the way. Also, it is an easy trek for seasoned trekkers but do some physical fitness training before going on this trek (or any other trek) if you want to enjoy all the moments of the trek. Less stamina and tiredness often result into leaving the trek in between and dissatisfaction.
Day 1: Dehradun to Pantwari and Nag Tibba Base Camp:
I went on this trek with my friend Sunil and we had really good time there. First day half of the day we spent in traveling from Dehradun to Pantwari in a Tempo Traveller which was arranged by the tour operator. After reaching Pantwari we started our trek to the base camp. It was an easy trek of 4 Kms which we covered in 3-4 hours on a leisurely pace. We had our lunch on the way. (Paratha, Aloo Sabji, Chocolate, sweet and Fruity). Liked the food.
Tents at the base camp were comfortable and food was great.
Try and explore the sides to take good pictures.
Day 2: Base Camp to Nag Temple, Nag Tibba Smmit, down to Pantwari and back to Dehradun
So this day you need stamina. Total distance trekked was around 14 Kms-
Base Camp to Peak and Back- 10 Kms
Base Camp to Pantwari Village- 04 Kms
We started early morning at 4.15. Trek guides were Ravi Chauhan and Gambhir Chauhan. These guys did really great job managing the group. Thumbs up to both. Gambhir is a seasoned trekker and trained from the prestigious Nehru Mountaineering Institute. He is having good knowledge of trekking and the terrain. Both of our guides were very friendly.
First we went to the temple. I was surprised to know that every year in Rainy Season, a festival is organized there and villagers come there to take blessings of Nag Devta (Serpent God). From temple we went to the Nag Tibba Summit. On clear days, you can see beautiful snow covered peaks including Gangotri, Kali Choti (Black Peak) and Dhauladhar range. Start as early as possible from the base camp if you don’t want to miss the view as the day passes, visibility gets poor.
After spending some time at the peak we started descending and reached to the base camp in 2 hours. Trekking down in hills is a bit tricky because of the slippery slopes and pebbles but enjoyable.
After having our lunch at base camp we moved down to Pantwari village and then back to Dehradun in the traveller. We came back with a beautiful memory. Thanks to Thrillophilia for your continuous support and friendly gesture. Meals were testy and stay was very comfortable. I will suggest trekker to go prepared with winter clothing and the basic things like torch etc. so that you can enjoy the trek.
P.S. - Running water washrooms are not ready yet.
Nag Tibba is a perfect weekend winter trek. First day morning you will travel from Dehradun to Pantwari (Base village to start the trek). You will go through Mussoorie and there is a waterfall on the way. After reaching Pantwari you will start your first day trek to the base camp, it's about 4km long. After reaching the base camp have your lunch and you will get snacks afterwards. On the second day, you will start your trek to the summit. On the way, there is a view point from where you can see the Yamnotri range (Kedarkantha, KalaNaag etc). On this day you will find enough snow. I enjoyed the trek. Thumbs up to the trek leaders and the Thrillophilia team.
"My experience with the trek is just above the sky... I enjoyed a lot... Especially it's an beginners trek. We need to have basic fitness level to go for the trek. What's most best thing about the trek is our guides Mr. Surrender Rana, Mr.Ramesh who call themselves as Pahad ka Bacha and the team who filled us with delicious food and lots of care. They are so helpful through out the trek. Now coming to the trek everyday you will get to see different landscapes. The mightiness of the Majestic Himalayas is something which filled my heart with unbelievable experience. For people who would love to experience the nature with a decent amount of trek this is perfect. This trek could be a ignition start for the next treks we would like to go. Do go with the complete trek essentials what will be mentioned the list. For a good trekker the most important things are perfect shoes and proper clothing, this will make the trek easy. This was my 1st solo trek which I was planning for years to gift myself when I get a job. The wait ended and also I realised that I had my Birthday coming on FEB which was a great time for me to spend my birthday in mountains. So I booked my trek and eagerly waited for the day to come. But, a few days before the trek was about to begin, I was a little worried about how will be the hospitality over there and will I be able to manage all alone. But, believe me this was the best decision of my entire life. The time I spent, the hospitality I received, the people I met there, and the happiness it all generated cannot be expressed in words. It was the best B-Day I have ever had in my life. This trek is highly recommended. Here are some pictures of me and the place for you to see. Cheers.
Booking Camp from this website was a great experience. The location is bit far from the Rishikesh bus stand but it is worth it. The scenes, food, rafting, and all other activities were just awesome. Also, the staff at the camp was very co-operative. At the end, it felt like all fun and no regrets.
All my cousins from India and abroad decided to go for a trek. Thanxx to the organizers we really did’nt had to worry about lodging, travel food as they took care of everything. And now about place…OMG amazing experience especially more fun if you have amazing company. Looking forward to more adventures.
After all the biking trips in the Himalayas I wanted to try something different when this idea of trekking popped in my mind. Since this was my first trek, I was searching for something of easy-moderate difficulty when I came across this Nag Tibba Trek. After going through the details and reading the reviews and blogs of previous treckers I readily booked Nag tibba trek organised by Thrillophilia for 2/3 March 2019. And now i can say it was the best decision I made. Our trek leader Bachan Rana and his team were very helpful, concerned and kept motivating and inspiring us. The food served was delicious. You can't expect more in such harsh terrain. It was beyond expectations. They also gave proper guidance regarding waste and garbage management and the need to protect the environment.Though for beginners like me it was never from any angle an easy trek, but the beauty and serenity of nature and the enthusiasm to trek in snow and reach the summit kept me going. After being picked up from Dehradun, we were taken to Pantwari village from where we started the trek. Though its quite steep in the beginning, soon we got acclimatised. We were served lunch in between and after 5-6 hours of trek, we reached our base camp. There we were served with Tea, snacks, soup and dinner later that night. All the hard work paid off as soon we began our trek in the early morning of the 2nd day as the path was covered with white, glistening snow. As we kept moving the snow cover kept getting thicker. It was such a delightful experience. We reached the summit by 11 am. To our surprise, our trek leader carried sandwiches for us which was served to us at the summit. Hats Off for that. After spending some quality time at the summit, we started descending back to base camp, where we had our lunch. After it, we descended further to Pantwari from where we were transported back to Dehradun bringing an end to the adventurous trek and many memories for lifetime.
Mr Bachan Rana, is an awesome guide. He led the whole team of 80 trekkers to the summit with safety and encouraged each one of us through out the trek.
It's a trek where Nature Compliments you. The Sun,Hills,Mountains,Springs,Forest,Rocks and Sounds give Tranquility and Peace to your head and Brain.
