Traveller Tales from Dehradun

"The things I have seen , the things I have done are pretty amazing . I can tell you tales about it , show you volume of pictures , speak on lengths about it but you wont understand . And its not your fault . Beautiful things are hard to understand and even more hard to earn. Unless you are there breathing in all what I had , you wont get it. And such an everlasting impression of the journey is only created by the wonderful people around you ; to name my Trek Guide Nanu , Cook Jeeta and Trek coordinator Raj Mohan . Rightly called as the Valley of Gods through alpine meadows, ridges, glacier basins, pine forests and ancient villages will give you a week of peace and tranquility and lifetime of memories."

Drive, Trek, Camp, Trek, Camp, Drive – Wow! What an eventful and mesmerizing break it has been. We had a really great 8 days here in this trek. Rupin Pass Trek is one of the most beautiful and the best treks to take in the country. With a high altitude of 4800 m this trek is indeed a thrilling experience. "My experience with the trek is just above the sky... I enjoyed a lot... Especially it's an beginners trek. We need to have basic fitness level to go for the trek. What's most best thing about the trek is our guides Mr. Surrender Rana, Mr.Ramesh who call themselves as Pahad ka Bacha and the team who filled us with delicious food and lots of care. They are so helpful through out the trek. Now coming to the trek everyday you will get to see different landscapes. The mightiness of the Majestic Himalayas is something which filled my heart with unbelievable experience. For people who would love to experience the nature with a decent amount of trek this is perfect. This trek could be a ignition start for the next treks we would like to go. Do go with the complete trek essentials what will be mentioned the list. For a good trekker the most important things are perfect shoes and proper clothing, this will make the trek easy. Experience the Majestic Himalayas, The secrets, wilderness, calm and blissfulness mountains give you!!.."

I have so many memories of Har Ki Dun trek. Right from the day ones drive from Dehradun to small village which is a stating point of the trek. The group members were amazing and very friendly. We trekked to some of the remote villages of Himalayas and witness the stunning beauty of Uttarakhand. Out trip leader was very friendly and funny. Food during the trek was good and stay was in camps which was the most amazing thing. Overall I loved the experience and I am glad that I went for this trek. Special thanks to our trip organizers and our trip leader for solving our every problem.

It was cold but it was beautiful and we had a blast. Make sure you carry enough warm clothes and good trekking shoes. Trek was not that difficult except few terrains. I was amazed by the views of snow covered mountains and alpine forest. The best part of the trek was reaching Jaundhar Glacier. The whole stretch was covered with snow and the view was amazing. I had seen so many different spices of birds and our guide told us that most of these are migratory birds. Stay arrangement was good so was the food. I totally enjoyed this trek.

Kedarkantha trek is absolutely the first choice for the trekkers if himalayan trekking is considered. Having a moderate trekking trail with a cover of beauty all arround makes it even more suitable for treeking expedition. The nearby pine trees are really big and there are many flat grounds where a camp can be set up easily. One such campsite was the Juda-Ka-Talab campsite which was a perfect place and the Kedarkantha Base also.

Wao what a beautiful place it was, just can not understand why it was unknown and undeiscovered to me...!!! Absolute the land of paradise for trekkers and nature lovers. Before starting my adventure i had searched a lot about the location in internet as well. Saw the dense forest of pine trees and oak. Well there were many campsites but above all i loved to spend time in the Hargaon camp, which was just awesome.

Our trip started from Haridwar from where drove to Joshimath. In between we had seen confluence of rivers which was amazing. Our trekking expedition started from day 2 from Dhak village. 4th day trek was very challenging as we trekked for 15 kms to Kauri Pass. Camping arrangement for very good and sleeping were of good quality. Terrain is tough so make sure you carry good trekking shoes.
