9 Festivals To Enjoy in Miami During Fall

Tourism is one of the important driving forces of job generation, economic growth, and development in Miami and has been one of the hardest-hit sectors by the Covid-19 pandemic.

But tourists have now started returning to the Magic City after the lockdown. Here are some reasons why you too should pack your bags finding flights to Miami heading to the city of world-acclaimed beaches, great weather, history, culture, and entertainment this fall season.

1. Comedy + Music Festival (Sept 3 and 4)

It is a two-day indoor/outdoor festival held in Ringleader Comedy Circus in Miami. SouthBeachComedy.com and JosepherRingleader.com present the festival. Some of South Florida’s finest entertainers and local celebrities will perform live and meet the attendees in the two-day festival.

Also, there will be DJs, Musical Acts, and food vendors. What else may you need for a fun time? The motive of the festival, as the name suggests, is to provide you with a perfect dose of comedy and music.

There will also be an open mike contest, and the winner will get the cash prize of $200. Even if you don’t win the cash prize, fun is guaranteed.

2. Female Brew Fest (Sept 18)

It is one of the finest craft beer festivals of South Florida that celebrates and highlights the women in the brewing industry. Taking place in The Kimpton Goodland Hotel – Fort Lauderdale Beach (a short driving distance from Miami), this outdoor festival allows you to meet and interact with some fine female brewsters.

Beer vendors, owned or run (or both) by women from all around the country, will be showcased here on September 18, 2021, between 1 to 5 pm EDT. This is a 21 + event and only a limited audience is allowed to give everyone exclusive tasting of all beers with live DJ and music.

3. Hay Maze Miami (Oct 22 to Nov 08)

It is actually a northern autumn tradition and a one-of-a-kind event that goes on for a few weeks. Both Miami residents and visitors can participate in this event and enjoy various seasonal food and drinks.

Hay Maze Miami also features an exclusive beer garden and lets everyone experience the tradition. This family-friendly event will be held at Maurice A. Ferré Park.

4. Free Comic Book Day (Aug 14)

This festival in Miami is fun! Comic shops all around the country give away free comic books. This annual event typically happens in May, but this year it has been shifted to August.

Yes, the pandemic. With over 60 percent of the county’s adult population vaccinated, everyone hopes that the uncertainty related to Covid-19 has passed.

Comic book stores across Miami will host special events, such as live sketching by comic artists and the appearance of costumed comic superheroes. The list of free books may include Spider-Man, Star Wars, Avengers, and more.

5. National Rum Day Fest (August 16)

It lets visitors savor both new and already popular rums from all around the world with strict hygiene measures.

It’s a boutique rum fest that aims to push the creative limits to create thirst-quenching and flavorsome drinks and uplift mixology-forward cocktail servings from celebrated mixologists, bartenders, and brands.

Hosted at The Confidante Miami Beach, the festival will feature a pool, live music, and food on August 16 between 6 to 9 pm.

6. Florida Supercon (Sept 10 to Sept 12)

An annual pop culture convention, is one of Miami’s most awaited events. At the Miami Beach Convention Center, you can watch many of your favorite celebs, favorite comic creators, voice actors, wrestling events, and much more.

The dates have been officially announced by the organizers and everything the supercon is known for, from joining the superhero community to making new friends, will be back this year.

7. TAMIAMI International Orchid Festival (Oct 1 to Oct 3)

It is one of the biggest and most popular orchid events in the United States. Show up at the Miami-Dade County Fair Expo Center between 10 am to 5 pm on 1-3 October and enjoy one of the most diverse orchids shows in the country. 

The 17 years old fest used to happen in January every year but the dates in 2021 have been shifted due to the Covid 19 pandemic. A great time to enjoy such an outdoor activity even when the summer sun takes a back seat and winters have yet not kick-off.

The event offers free classes and lessons, rare orchids in beautiful exhibits, and affordable orchids for purchase.

8. Miami Book Fair (Nov 14 to November 21)

The nation’s premier literary festival, draws hundreds of authors and thousands of readers every year. In Downtown Miami, this book fest features multiple book launches, author interviews, poetry reading, writing workshops, and various cultural events. 

If your little ones love books, do bring them along as there would be a lot for them to see, read, learn and enjoy. Miami Book Fair is also a great event to introduce kids to the world of books.

9. Coconut Grove Pumpkin Patch Festival (Dates Unconfirmed)

It is an annual family-friendly event where you and your little fellow travelers can pick pumpkins of every shape and size at the pumpkin patch. The carnival also boasts bumper cars, a corn maze, themed parties, and food.

You can enjoy a wide range of seasonal activities along with carnival attractions. Coconut Grove Pumpkin Patch Festival is one of the coolest events to kick start the fall season in Miami.
