Situated in Hudgur Village, the Harangi Reservoir in the Kodagu district is built on a dam across the Haringi River. The dam is 6 kms away from the town of Kushalnagar. The Harangi River begins from Pushpagiri hills in the western ghats of the Kodagu district. Every year the southwest winds bring a lot of rains which keep the water of the river flowing. The total length of the Harangi River measured from its originating point to where it meets Kaveri is 50 km. At Dubare, the dam becomes a picnic spot for visitors. The forest of dubare lies here making the landscape very inviting and beautiful. The best time to come here is during the months of August and September. It is an unusual place for picnic, tranquil and calm with availability of guest houses which can be booked on for.
