If you are an animal lover, you cannot help but wonder at the services offered by Phnom Tamao Zoo in the Cambodian capital city of Phnom Penh.

Highlights – This is more of a wildlife rescue centre, giving ultimate protection to almost endangered species of animals, birds and reptiles. It started off at a very humble level and today there are close to a whopping 1200 animals of about 102 species set up over 6000 acres. Most of the animals found here are endangered species like Asiatic elephants, tigers, Malayan sun bears, Siamese crocodiles Pileated gibbons and many more. Established during 1995, this zoo is probably one of the fewest places in the world where you will spot these rare species that are almost extinct.

Location – Takeo, Phnom Penh.

Timings – 8AM to 5PM on all the days of the week.

Price – USD150 for a day of Behind the Scenes tour of the zoo.
