Itinerary

  • Day 1 -

Meeting at the decided point in Dehradun by around 0700AM, you will be driven through the scenic valleys of Uttarkashi and the upper Bhagirathi. A long, yet beautiful journey, it will take you around 9-10 hours to reach Gangotri, where you will be checked-in into a guesthouse or a lodge. Spend the rest of the day enjoying the untouched and magical beauty, and also indulge in some local shopping in case you have missed something for the upcoming trek.

  • Day 2 -

Following today's breakfast, get started with a mild trek over the rough terrains of Gangotri and hike through lush and evergreen forests. On your way, you will be accompanied with the enchanting views of the Sudarshan Peak and several other fascinating peaks. Completing the 4 hours trek, as you reach the Chirbassa campsite that is located beside the Ganges, call it a day and spend overnight in the camp.

  • Day 3 -

With today's short trek, you will reach Bhojwassa, a quaint village that got its name from the 'bhojpatra' or the 'bhoj' leaves that were used as a substitute for papers in the ancient times. Though the trek will be a shorter one, it will offer you wonderful views of the Bhagirathi Peaks and the pictorial Gaumukh Glacier. Arriving in Bhojwasa, check-in into the campsite and after enjoying lunch, you can take up a short hike towards Gangotri. Returning to the campsite by evening, retire for the day and spend overnight in the tents.

  • Day 4 -

Today's trek will be one of the longest in this expidition and will take you through several scenic destinations. To begin with the day's hike, start trekking from Bhojwasa and hike towards Gaumukh to seek the blessings of the Mother Ganges; take enough time to enjoy the enchanting beauty and the piousness of this holy river.

Hereafter, continue trekking towards through the stunning Gangotri Glacier and proceed towards Tapovan. One of the high altitude meadows of Uttarakhand, Tapovan is located on the foothills of the Shivling Peak and offers tempting views of the Bhagirathi Peaks, Mt Meru and Mt Shivling.

The trek for the day will conclude with your return hike to Bhojwasa, where you will be spending overnight in tents.

  • Day 5 -

Following today's breakfast in Bhojwasa, embark on the last downhill trek of this astounding expedition; expect short distance and gentle gradient all through the trek. • Day 6 -

On the last day of the trek to the source of the Ganges, you will be driven back to Dehradun. With your arrival in the city, this amazing tour will reach its final point; you will be free to continue with your onward journey.
