About the Destination:

Originating from Dar and trailing to Panchachuli Glacier, this 40km trek is amongst the most sought after treks in the Kumaon Himalayas. Embraced by the sensational beauty of the alpine glaciers, snow-clad mountains and peaks, lush meadows and scenic forests, this moderate graded trek is ideal for beginners to expert trekkers.

With the April-June and September-October as the best season, this Panchachuli base camp climb attains a height of 13,976ft and showcases a myriad list of flora and fauna. Be it during the winters or other seasons, the trek always fascinates its enthusiasts with its wonders and woos them to come over and over again!

  • Day 1 - Drive from Kathgodam to Dharchula (295km)

    Kali River, Himalayas, Indo-Nepal Border, Tribal Villages

    The fun and delight of the Panchachuli Base Camp climb starts with your arrival in Kathgodam and continues with a day long drive to Dharchula. This day long journey will take you through Bhimtal, Almora, Dhaulchina, Sera-gat, Chaukhori, Thal and Ashkot towns. At certain points, you will be driving along the Indo-Nepal Border; the Kali River adds more to this drive. Himalayan peaks, tribal villages, snow-capped peaks and picturesque meadows also awaits you in this drive. Arriving in Dharchula, check-in into a homestay, where you will also spent the night.

  • Day 2 - Drive from Dharchula to Dhar (2 Hours), Trek from Dhar to Urthing

    2 Hours Trek, Easy Ascend and Descend

    Waking up in the morning, enjoy a delicious breakfast in the homestay and get prepared to mark your advent in the Himalayas. Today, after driving for around 2 hours from Dharchula, you will reach Dhar region, from where your trekking expedition will start taking shape!

    On arriving Dhar, embark on a trek through the high passes and narrow passes and continue for around 2 hours. Advancing through the mild ascend and descend, you will reach Urthing. Once in the vicinity, get settled in the campsite and retire for the day; overnight stay in the camp.

  • Day 3 -   Trek from Urthing to Nagling (10km)

    4 Hours Trek, Dhauli Ganga, Suspension Bridge, Inner Himalayas

    On the third day, you will be following an easy trail that will take you towards Nagling; the terrains here are often thronged by mules and you can spot their footsteps easily during the trek. Continuing through these terrains, you will reach several lush meadows with the Dhauli Ganga making its way through them. At once you arrive a suspension bridge in the inner Himalayan Range, you will be close to your campsite for the day. Arrive at the campsite and retire for the day.

  • Day 4 - Trek from Nagling to Son (11km)

    5 Hours Trek, Darma Valley

    Today’s trek is amidst the hills and the terrains on this trek is quite rocky at least for the first 3km. In the later phase, the trek passes by the forests full of conifers, birch and high oak trees. Passing this, you will reache the meadow at the top of Nagling. The views of the distant glaciers are simply amazing and is a delight for the trekkers!  In order to reach Son, you further have to pass Baaling meadows that spreads around 3km and is marked with tribal vegetation lands. Arriving at the unhabited valleys of Son, retire in the campsite and enjoy an overnight in the camp.

  • Day 5 - Trek from Son to Panchachuli Base Camp

    5km Trek, Dantu Bugyals, Exotic Flora, Astounding Peaks

    This is the most important day of the Panchachuli Base Camp trekking; you would leave Son and reach Panchachuli. The trek runs along a narrow route which passes the wide grounds of Dantu Bugyals. The descent towards Panchachuli Base Camp is marked by forests of birch on one side and conifers on the other. Along with the many varieties of wild flowers and strawberries, you can also feast on the astounding views of the snow-clad peaks and vast expanse of glaciers. Once you reach the base camp, get freshened up and get a blissful slumber in camp.

  • Day 6 - Trek from Panchachuli Base Camp to Nagling

    16km Trek, Easy Descend

    This day would start with the gradual descent to Nagling. This trek is easy and upon reaching Nagling, you can settle down in the camps and get rejuvenated with a delicious dinner and overnight stay in the camp.

  • Day 7 - Trek from Nagling to Urthing

    Easy & Short Trek

    Post breakfast in the Nangling camp, embark on an easy and short trek to Urthing. Enjoy the luscious views on the way and adore the pristine beauty of the Himalayan Range. Arriving in Urthing, make yourself comfortable in the camp and retire for the day.

  • Day 8 - Trek from Urthing to Dharchula

    Last Day of Trekking, Easy Trek

    Today will be the last day of the trek! Starting with an easy and gradual descend, today you will reach the pictorial valleys of Dharchula. Arriving at the locality, check-in into the camping tents and call it a day with an overnight stay in the tents.

  • Day 9 - Drive from Dharchula to Kathgodam

    Tour Ends Here

    Once you wake up in the morning, get refreshed and enjoy a delicious breakfast. Post this, pack your bags and get prepared to depart the campsite. From here onwards, you will be driven back to Kathgodam; with your arrival, this exciting and delightful Panchachuli Base Camp climb will come to an end.
