Day 1
Arrival in Guwahati | Transfer to Shillong
Shillong
  • Arrive at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station.
  • Upon your arrival, meet our local representative and board your transfer to Shillong.
  • On the way, visit Umiam Lake aka Borapani, which is a mesmerizing man-made reservoir encircled with lush green hills (if time permits/ or on the day of departure).
  • Upon reaching Shillong, check-in at the hotel and spend the rest of the evening at leisure wherein you can choose to explore the local market (at your own expense).
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Shillong.
Day 2
Shillong to Nongkhnum River Island | Explore the 2nd largest river island of Asia.
Nongstoin
  • Post breakfast at your hotel in Shillong, board your vehicle which will take you to the west of Shillong.
  • Reach Nongkhum Island and explore the second-largest river island in Asia.
  • Stroll around the beautiful sandy beaches along the riverside where you can indulge in activities like basking in the sun, boating, fishing, etc. (at your own expense).
  • Visit the beautiful villages of Kawthar, Mawduh, and Laws to understand the lifestyle of the people living on this island.
  • Further, head to the viewpoint of Weina Falls and  Langshiang Falls which are surrounded by two significant rivers Namilang and Phanilang respectively.

Day 3
Nongstoin to Cherrapunjee | Visit the cascading Elephant Falls

  • Post breakfast at the hotel, board your transfers for Cherrapunjee which is known as the wettest place on earth as it receives the max amount of rainfall.
  • On the way, take a short photo stop at Elephant Falls.
  • Further, visit the breathtaking Mawkdok Dympep ViewPoint which offers wonderful views of the V-shaped valley with sloping hills carpeted with green on either side.
  • After this, stop at the viewpoints of Nohkalikai falls and Seven Sisters’ Falls to enjoy the amazing views of the waterfalls.

Day 4
Nongriat Trek Day | Walk on the Living Double Decker Root Bridge

  • After breakfast, proceed to Tyrna village from where you will begin your trek.
  • Start the trek to the Double Decker Root Bridge (Nongriat) with the local guide through a beautiful trail of forest and bridges.
  • Upon reaching the final destination, spend some time exploring around.
  • Later on, you can also extend your hike to Rainbow Falls at an extra cost of Rs 1500/-.
  • Begin your return journey to the Tyrna village by hiking up to 3000 steps.
  • By evening, board your vehicle to Cherrapunjee.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Cherrapunjee.
Day 5
Cherrapunjee to Mawlynnong | Take a boat ride on the cleanest river of Asia
Mawlynnong
  • After having your breakfast at the hotel, head to explore some of the best places in Meghalaya.
  • Explore Mawlynnong which is Asia’s Cleanest Village.
  • On the outskirts of the village, witness nature’s wonder in the form of a Balancing Rock, which remains unmoved through years, despite the storms and cyclones.
  • Later, visit the Single Decker Living Root Bridge in Riwai village.
  • Post this you will reach Dawki where the ultimate experience of boating in crystal clear waters of the Umngot river awaits you (at your own expense).

Day 6
Mawlynnong to Mawphlang | Visit the Sacred Forest Land

  • In Mawphlang, reach the Sacred Forest Area to explore this protected area under sanctions.
  • Located in the East Khasi and Jantia hills, this Mawphlang Sacred Grove is protected by the local deity and preserved by the Khasi Tribe.
  • This Sacred Grove is guarded by one strict rule – ‘NOTHING is allowed to be taken out of this Sacred Grove. Not even a leaf, stone, or a dead log’ & failing to comply may lead to a bad omen.
  • This groove is known to be the home of many amazing plants, flowering trees, orchids, butterflies, and many other types of Flora and Fauna.

Day 7
David Scott Trek Day | Hike from Mawphlang to Lad Mawphlang

  • Begin your adventurous day as you start hiking on the famous David Scott Trail from where the Britishers ventured their way in the East Khasi hills.
  • This nature trail is very easy and will take you through quaint Khasi villages, ancient sacred groves, lush green meadows, sparse fields, rolling mountains, rushing streams, stone bridges, and natural pools.
  • Walk through meandering roads, gentle slopes, flat ground, and a steep uphill climb before you finally arrive at Lad Mawphlang.
  • Overnight stay at a homestay in Lad Mawphlang.
Day 8
Lad Mawphlang to Shillong | Explore the picturesque Laitlum Canyon

  • After breakfast start toward Shillong.
  • Before reaching Shillong, take a detour to the Laithlum Canyon, which is located 23 km south of Shillong.
  • Take some postcard-perfect pictures at the Laitlum Canyon where the Bollywood movie “Rock On 2” was shot.
  • Further, start your journey to Shillong.

  • Hotel Specifications:- Standard Room - A Standard hotel room means a compact accommodation with basic amenities such as queen sized bed, proper lighting, toilet with running water, ventilation and door locking system with proper cleanliness & hygiene | Deluxe Room - A Deluxe hotel room generally has a view (city, mountains, river,etc) which is subject to availability. The room has all the facilities of a standard room with additional amenities like a slightly larger area, television, telephone, bath towels. | Super Deluxe Room - A Super Deluxe room is spacious and offers a great view and has a king sized bed. Along with the facilities of a deluxe room, it also has a sofa, chair, table.
  • Pick-up from the Guwahati airport and railway station will be before 3 PM as it becomes unsafe for travel on the outskirts. Beyond these timings, you are advised to let Thrillophilia POC know before booking if you are arriving after 3 PM in Guwahati so that Thrillophilia can rearrange your itinerary accordingly as you might have to stay in Guwahati itself.
  • Thrillophilia will do its best to provide accommodation from the accommodation list shared with the guest. However, a *similar hotel in the category booked by the traveler may also be assigned pertaining to various reasons like unavailability, Maintenance, Security, feedback from multiple guests & extenuating circumstances like an accident at a hotel or intervention of local authorities, bad weather, Political/social disturbances, roadblocks, VVIP movements & state transport rule prohibition.   • Thrillophilia and the on-ground operator hold full rights to shuffle the itinerary without informing the customer in order to provide the specific property as per the requirement of the customer.
  • All the hotels in Meghalaya serve breakfast by/ after 8 AM. It is advised for the travelers to get ready before 8 AM and start the sightseeing immediately after having breakfast (maximum by 9 AM). This is because Meghalaya has early sunsets and thus it will be difficult to cover the sightseeing places due to low visibility. Thrillophilia may not be responsible to cover all sightseeing points if there is a delay by travelers for any reason.
  • Thrillophilia reserves the right to rearrange or change the itinerary for any reasons that are beyond control like natural calamity, weather conditions, roadblocks, VVIP interference, political manifestation, etc.
  • As per North East guidelines, there are restrictions on baggage as the vehicles are not allowed to use luggage carrier. Therefore, it is advised to carry a maximum of one luggage bag per person. Kindly inform the operator prior in case of more luggage.
  • Pick up and drop off are between a fixed time window. Any delay due to personal or unforeseen circumstances including flight reschedules will incur an extra cost and has to be communicated at the earliest. Sightseeing missed due to delayed flight/train/bus is non-refundable.
  • Most of the meals throughout the trip will be very basic due to the lack of accessibility, and infrastructure in the hilly terrain.
  • Budget and Deluxe Hotels in Meghalaya and Kaziranga are very basic. One may not expect luxuries like metropolitan cities. Also, if you choose a homestay for your trip, please note that these accommodations will be very basic with minimal facilities as they are remotely located in the lap of nature
  • The weather in Meghalaya is very pleasant throughout the year, thus Fans or AC are hardly available at your stays.
  • Incase of triple-sharing rooms, extra mattresses will be provided at the assigned property. Due to infrastructure limitations in the region, very few hotels provide extra beds. If you require an extra bed, kindly inform the Thrillophilia POC before booking.
  • By default, we arrange a standard category room while booking unless the customer specifies to receive a different category of rooms before booking.
  • Any change in the itinerary is subject to weather conditions, political manifestations, and government restrictions, etc. Thrillophilia & On-Ground Operators reserve the right to rearrange the itinerary in such cases.
  • As per North East guidelines, vehicles are available on point to point basis only (not on disposal), any deviation in the itinerary would cost an additional amount (unless any issue occurs such as bad weather, Political/social disturbances, roadblocks, VVIP movements & state transport rule prohibition). Before changing the itinerary, you are free to consult with us about the charges.
  • In some regions, it is mandatory to turn off the AC in the vehicle (especially in eco-sensitive areas and hilly regions).
  • Please note that heaters will not be provided and thus it is advised to carry ample winter clothing according to the temperature predictions during your travel dates.
  • The Deluxe and Super deluxe properties will not be as per the properties you see in other regions of India due to low accessibility. They are basic in terms of room size, location, and catering facilities. It is advised that you have a prior look on the web so as to know what to expect.
  • There are regular power cuts in many places and therefore it is recommended to carry torches, power banks, and extra batteries.
  • Due to the low supply of electricity, there are no lifts in most of the hotels.
  • Generators might not be available as a backup option at various times.
  • GST is applicable to the package and not included in the above cost.
  • The travelers will have to take care of their international airfare, visa fees, airport tax, or any kind of insurance cover.

  • Double Decker Root Bridge is accessible only through Nogriat Trek which is one way more than 3000 steps. It is a steep trek that gets slippery and difficult in monsoon. Children younger than 10 years and Adults elders than 50 years are not recommended to do this trek.
  • The entire tour passes through eco-friendly zones; we do not encourage any kind of littering throughout the tour.
  • Dawki is a remote location and only limited facilities are available. The breakfast options are limited to maggi, snacks, etc and at the Dawki camps, only public/ common washrooms will be available.
  • Rescheduling Policy for Private (Standard & Deluxe Package) & Group Bookings: 1) If rescheduling is made 7 days after the Booking Date till 15 days prior to the Date of Travel then 30.0% of the total tour cost will be charged as rescheduling fees. | 2) If rescheduling is made 0 days to 15 days before the Date of Travel then 100.0% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees. | 3) If bookings are made 15 days before the Date of Travel no rescheduling & modifications will be made.
