Port Sunlight is a model village and suburb in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, in Merseyside, England. In 1888, Liverpool was a bustling Port city with a thriving economy. The city was home to several factories and warehouses, and its docks were constantly busy with ships coming in and out. To meet the growing demand for labor, many people from all over the UK and Ireland came to Liverpool in search of work.

Amid all this activity, one man had the vision to create a model village for his workers. That man was William Lever, and his village was Port Sunlight.

The village was designed to be a self-contained community for Lever's workers.
