About Walker Art Gallery

The Walker Art Gallery has a significant collection of modern and contemporary art, including works by Damien Hirst, Anish Kapoor, and Antony Gormley. In addition to its permanent collection, the Walker Art Gallery also hosts a variety of temporary exhibitions throughout the year.

It is located in the Royal Institution Building, which was originally a home for scientific lectures and experiments. The building has been extended several times to accommodate the growing number of visitors, but the original Victorian features have been preserved.

The Walker Art Gallery is one of the few museums in Britain that has free admission. The gallery's collection includes paintings by artists like John Constable, Joseph Wright of Derby, Francisco Goya, and William Blake as well as works by modern artists like Francis Bacon and Andy Warhol.

It is also known for its beautiful architecture and its unique location in the city center. It is one of the striking places to visit in Liverpool.
