About the Museum of Ancient Ships:
The largest collection of ancient ships of Pisa was accidentally found when the workers of Italian Railways were digging the place to start the foundation for a control center of the railway department and thus accidentally found a few floating objects just six meters deep below the surface, upon more careful digging they found this set of ships. These ships were so well preserved that they carried the same utensils and goods that they were used for everyday purposes by the crew. The value of this discovery can be understood by the fact that these ships were built during the Roman era in Pisa.
