Arrive at the homestay near Bannerghatta and meet Phillip Ross who is the leader of the camp. Check-in to the camps located on the banks of a lake amidst the thickets.
Afterwards, enjoy an ice breaking session to know the fellow campers.
Phillip will take you to the amazing world of ornithology and then take you out to the vast forest area to spot the avian wonders.
You may come across at least 30 species over the hour we spend birding.
Return to the campsite and have lunch.
After a delicious lunch, a presentation on nature photography will be conducted.
This is the time you have to take your cameras out and listen to Phillip who will explain the camera settings to shoot wildlife.
Phillip then lead the group to the bird photography hide, where you and your child can practice what you’ve learnt from the photography lesson.
After the hide photography session, trek to a nearby hill to rivet in the panoramic view of the forests of Bannerghatta.
Witness an amazing sunset from the top and click some stunning landscape images.
Descend afterwards and on the way back you will learn about camera trapping and set up a camera trap, hoping that Bannerghatta’s nocturnal wanderers chooses to walk by sometime during the night or in the wee hours of the morning.
Once back at the campsite, have a fun entertainment and sing-along session while enjoying the campfire, and hit the sack soon after a scrumptious dinner.
Rise and shine early today, get welcomed to a new morning with the pristine sunshine views.
Have a cup of tea followed by your fishing activity. Pick your rods and bait up and then head to the water's edge.
Phillip will introduce the art of angling to everyone, and you and your child will learn about the various fishing methods, types of tackle and species of fish found in the lake, and how to cast, set the hook and carefully retrieve the catch without hurting the fish. Please remember that all fish caught will be released back into the lake.
Rush back to the campsite and savour a delicious breakfast.
After a hearty breakfast, leave to retrieve the camera trap. Once the camera trap is checked, return to the campsite and play some fun mother vs children games.
Then Phillip will help put together the bird checklist and talk about wildlife conservation and the steps we can take in order to make a change.
Wind up the camp afterwards and bid adieu to the extremely beautiful site.
