There is an interesting story behind this trek. The trek passes through the "Mohan - The Man-Eater Trail". Known by all - Jim Corbett, after whom this famous National Park was named, was an efficient and an avid hunter. Among the many man-eating tigers and leopards he had killed, Mohan was one of them. The trail is basically the same route that had been used by Corbett to kill Mohan.
Commencing at an altitude of 1200 meter, the trek passes through a wide variety of terrain of about 8 km before ending at an elevation of 550 meter. The trek, which happens to be a descending one, encounters small streams, hilly terrain, open meadows, river beds and forests as well. It also passes through small villages with as few as 3 to 4 houses living in the middle of the forest.
Experienced and local guides will be accompanying keeping in mind all the required safety measures. Anybody who is physically fit and is or above 14 years of age can participate in this activity. Shared cab transportation to and from the resort (at Jim Corbett) is also provided. Guests are advised to carry packed food from their resorts for the trek.
