Cycling Tour To Angkor Temples In Cambodia

Itinerary

• Day 1 -

  Arrive in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from where you will be transferred to the hotel.

  Stay overnight there.

• Day 2 -

  After breakfast leave for Skuon by cycling.

  The road is flat and it’s an easy ride.

  You will get moved out of traffic after the 10 kilometers out of Phnom Penh.

  Skuon is famous for its deep fried spiders.

  Cycle for 78 kilometers.

• Day 3 -

  Start cycling from Skuon to Kampong Thom, pass through the lovely villages and rural scenery, lush fields dotted with locals engaged in their day to day life.

  Have lunch en route.

  Cycle for 91 kilometers.

• Day 4 -

  Today you will cycle through the dirt road to Sambor Prei Kuk, the capital of the Chenla Kingdom, which predates Angkor by several centuries.

  Visit the three main temple complexes and enjoy the beautiful ruins.

  Post lunch, visit the Isanborei community – a project set up to generate employment for the locals and to conserve nature, culture and the ancient temple ruins.

  In the late afternoon, cycle back to your home stay and tak rest.

  Enjoy dinner at the homestay.

  Cycle for 42 kilometers.

• Day 5 -

  Begin the day with cycling to Siem Reap.

  En route, stop over in Kompong Kdei to see one of the ancient Angkor bridges built to span the rivers.

  Spean Praptos has more than 20 arches and it is a spectacular sight.

  Get picked up from here to travel to Stoung.

  Lunch is served in a local restaurant on the way.

  Depart Stoung and cycle to Siem Reap.

  The support vehicle will follow you and can transfer you if you get tired.

  Cycle for 95 kilometers.

• Day 6 -

  Visit Angkor with your private guide.

  It is visually, architecturally and artistically a breathtaking site and is one of the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia.

  Angkor Archaeological Park, stretching over some 400 sq.km, including forested area, contains the magnificent remains of the different capitals of the Khmer Empire, from the 9th to the 15th century.

  They include the famous Temple of Angkor Wat and Angkor.

  Cycle for 25 kilometers.

• Day 7 -

  You will be picked up and transferred to the airport in Siem Reap for your return flight. The experience ends here
