Te Parapara, Hamilton

Home to New Zealand's only traditional Maaori productive garden, Te Parapara showcases plants that are of great cultural importance and are vital resources too. One can sight these plants growing inside traditional structures at this one of the extravagant places to visit in Hamilton.

The whole garden is divided into two parts namely Te Taupa (the garden) and Te Ara Whakatauki (the path of proverbs). The whole setup shows how Aotearoa used wild plants to demonstrate the new techniques they developed for growing tropical crops in a sub-tropical climate.
