Giraffe Centre Overview
Like most other trusts and sanctuaries in the region, the Giraffe Centre was established for the conservation of the Rothschild species of the Giraffe, which is typically found only in the grasslands of East Africa.
Highlights: Initiated by Jock Leslie Melville, the centre was originally started as a captive breeding place for a captured baby giraffe. Since then, the centre has seen many different species of giraffes coming up in its precincts. The centre is also equipped with an education centre for tourists. Visitors can entertain themselves with the heart warming views of feeding giraffes from a raised platform. You can also view a number of warthogs in the centre. Check out the cute baby giraffes in here.
Location: The centre lies at a little distance of 5 kilometres from central Nairobi, at Karen.
Timings: Mon-Sun: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
