Prashar Lake Camping Overview

Welcome to one of the most scenic treks that would lead you through the hills of Mandi to arrive at the beautiful oval-shaped lake set at a high altitude of almost 9000 ft above sea level - the Parashar Lake.

Next to the lake is the magnificent temple dedicated to the Sage Prashar who used to meditate by this ancient lake, and after whom the lake was called Prashar Lake. From the vantage point where the lake is located, you can see as far as the Rohtang Pass, and mountains of Shimla and Kinnaur. And although the trek is just 7 km one way, it is a difficult and strenuous one.

About the activity:
- Start by arriving in Mandi and get transferred to Baggi, which is the start point of the trek.
- You will take your packed lunch with you on your trek to Prashar Lake.
- After arriving at the lake, take a short hike forward to your campsite where you can enjoy a bonfire and a filling dinner before you go to sleep in your comfy and high-quality tents.
- Wake up the next day and after your breakfast trek back to Baggi to end your tour with a transfer to Mandi.

Prashar Lake Camping Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Arrive in Mandi | Prashar Lake Trek

    The tour starts with your early morning arrival in Mandi, where you will meet our representative

    Get a shared transfer to Baggi which is the base for the trek

    After having breakfast on your own and carrying packed lunch, start the 9km trek to Prashar Lake. You will arrive at your destination by late afternoon.

    Spend some time at the lake before taking a short hike to the campsite nearby.

    Check-in and enjoy the evening with a bonfire and dinner, before you decide to settle in for the night. And if you wish, you can stay up a little late to watch the stars in the beautiful night sky

  • Day 2 - Return to Mandi

    Watch a mesmerizing sunrise at the Prashar Lake before taking your breakfast.

    Check out of the camps and trek back to Baggi, from where you will be transferred to Mandi to end the trip
