Pachmarhi is a famous hill station in the Satpura region of Madhya Pradesh, mostly known for being a beautiful place surrounded by the lushes and greens of the Satpura National Park. Studded with many gems, the waterfalls of this place are the absolute best. And amongst them are the famous Duchess falls acting as the absolute best of the lot.
Also known as 'Jalwataran', the Duchess falls are a perennial stream that flows into a deep pool with a crashing roar, a significant feature of the cascade. The falls actually stream down in three levels which make for a great scene for your cameras. Located in the Satpura range, the falls call for a scenic trek of about 4 kms through the rocks and boulders of the hills. This trek leads you to the base of the first cascade, where the splashes and mists welcome you.
The trek to reach the base of the first cascade of the falls is itself a great adventure. Passing through the thick forests and making your way over the huge rocks will make your stay in the Satpura even more adventurous. And the view from the first base will be the great reward of coming here.
