When someone books their fourth trip with the same company, they are doing it because everything just seems to work well with them. The trip is good, the accommodations are nice, and the entire tour is well planned, and that’s exactly what keeps the travellers coming back.
Rajeev Potala from Hyderabad has been traveling with Thrillophilia long enough to know what to expect, and Bhutan also fit right to the expectations. "This is my 4th trip with Thrillophilia, and you guys never disappoint us," he said in his review. Seven days across Phuentsholing, Thimphu, Punakha, and Paro, and another trip done right.
Flying In and Into Phuentsholing
They flew out of Hyderabad on the 26th of April and landed at Bagdogra, from where they were transferred to Phuentsholing, the border town that serves as Bhutan's entry point for travelers from India. The immigration formalities, the Bhutan Gate, the Zangto Pelri Lhakhang with its vibrant murals, the Alapan View Point with the hills stretching out behind it. Phuentsholing is the first chapter for a Bhutan trip, calm and unhurried, and Rajeev noted that the hotel here was well located and easy to get around from.
Day two was to explore Thimphu

Day two was the drive up to Thimphu after the immigration permit formalities, and the road from the border into the hills is one of those journeys that mesmerises you. They had two days in Thimphu, and the first was for settling in and exploring at their own pace. Simply Bhutan, the interactive museum that gives you a proper sense of Bhutanese daily life and culture.
Day three was a day trip to Punakha, which is one of the most beautiful detours a Bhutan itinerary can include. The drive through Dochula Pass at 3,100 metres, with the 108 chortens spread across the ridge and the Himalayas laid out behind them, was a sight to behold. Chimi Lhakhang, the temple of the Divine Madman, was next, followed by Punakha Dzong, sitting at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers and widely regarded as one of the most beautiful buildings in Bhutan.
Thimphu Sightseeing and Then Paro
Day four was the Thimphu sightseeing tour before the transfer to Paro. National Memorial Chorten, Changangkha Lhakhang, Motithang Takin Preserve where Bhutan's unusual national animal wanders about with complete indifference to visitors, Tashichho Dzong with its whitewashed walls and red roofs, and the Royal Textile Museum. By afternoon they were in Paro, checked in and resting before what the whole trip had been building toward.
Tiger's Nest Was an Excellent Stop

Day five was the Tiger's Nest trek, and everything that needs to be said about it has been said before and is still not quite enough. Seven kilometres through pine forest, prayer flags between the trees, the monastery appearing and disappearing through the branches as the path climbs. And then the moment the cliff face and the monastery come into full view, hanging impossibly above a sheer drop, you understand why people fly to Bhutan specifically for this. Inside, the meditation caves and intricate murals are the quiet reward for the climb. Rajeev and Sainath descended back to the starting point with what was presumably a very satisfied kind of tiredness.
Chele La Pass and Back to Phuentsholing
Day six was the drive back toward Phuentsholing with a stop at Chele La Pass, the highest motorable pass in Bhutan at 3,988 metres, prayer flags lining the ridge and Himalayan peaks visible in every direction on a clear day. The Amo Chhu Crocodile Breeding Centre in Phuentsholing, where gharials and mugger crocodiles are being protected, was an unexpected and interesting final afternoon stop before the last night in the border town.
Day seven was the transfer back to Bagdogra and the Air India Express flight home to Hyderabad.
Thrillophilia’s Support Made the Trip Even Better
Rajeev has been doing this long enough to be a reliable judge. Four trips, the same company, and the review still reads: "You guys never disappoint us." That is the kind of loyalty that is earned over time and across multiple trips, not just one good experience.
"We are so pleased with Thrillophilia for the trip to Bhutan. Thank you for the amazing trip and services. We will definitely recommend you."
The flights, the transfers across six days and four cities, the accommodation in three different locations, all coordinated without the travelers having to think about the logistics of any of it. For a returning traveler who already knows what Thrillophilia delivers, the expectation is high. The fact that it was met again, on the fourth trip, says everything.
