"The best view comes after the hardest climb." - This cannot be more true. Few months ago, two of my friends and I were just looking for a small vacation break and wanted to visit the North region of India. As we were a beginner, we were looking for trips with average difficulty. Taking a chance in the unknown, we went ahead to book the Chanderkhani Pass from Thrillophilia. Since this was our first trip into the mountains, we were both, nervous and excited. On reaching there, we did few activities including rappelling and acclimatization walk. The scenic beauty from the base camp was superb as we could see the mountains covered with the snow. The excitement to reach there doubled after that. Day one ended on a good note after we were given a brief orientation about the next three days. We started for the Chanderkhani pass on Day Two. As we were marching towards the Naya Tapru camp, we saw a lot of natural scenery including green hills, snowy mountains and small waterfalls. On reaching there, we had our dinner and a born fire to end the day. Day three marked our marching towards the Chaklani Camp which was our last stop. From chaklani we marched towards the Chanderkhani Pass which was an uphill on snow. After an hour of ascend in the snow, we finally reached the peak of Chanderkhani. The view from this point was incomparable and totally worth watching. For descending, we did snow slides with the help of the guides which was a different fun all together. Taking the memories of the this few moments, we went back to the Chaklani camp. On Day four, we started to descend back to the base camp which was a journey of 4 hours. To sum it up, it was an amazing experience for us and I recommend this trek if you are a beginner. Ending the post with this,"Travel is the only thing you buy, that makes you richer"

I was expecting a simple trek, but this seemed to be a dicey and challenging one. Most of my co-trekkers seemed to enjoy this and the overall service was good. We got enough time to explore Nagar town. Our base camp was very good and tents and sleeping bags were of very good quality. Amazing part of the trek was jeep ride as it give us opportunity to see beautiful mountains and landscapes.

What I liked about this whole trek is the challenging routes and the jeep drive through some routes. It was not hard to climb the hills up yet demanding high energy. Every day we trekked around 5 hours average. Every place was showing us different images. I did not find any single place that was behind the expected level of beauty. Like the photographs of the Himalayas, Bhrigu Lake and the villages around it are well maintained and properly arranged. There were many groups who were camping when we reached the base points. I think all of them were coming through other agents and tour organizers. With our group, there was a tour guide and a cook and also one team manager. All of them were behaving so nicely with us. Unlike other Himalayan regions, Bhrigu Lake had something special I felt. May be the natural trails that led to the top. I don’t know exactly. It is a large lake with beautiful surroundings. It is located in a secluded region and heard that during winter, it will be covered by snow and that sight is the most interesting one too. But we went during June and there was rain also sometimes. But the trek was really exciting. We found a lot of cattle also grazing on the sideways of the lake. One shepherd was with those flocks. The green meadows and the large pine forests were adding so much charm to the whole region. The villages are small and the houses are also small. But all were beautifully constructed. The locals seemed to be very familiar with the tourists. They were involved in their daily activities. But near the lake only tourists were found. One or two shepherds too. Other than that local people were not there. I think, this is a beautiful trek that can be done with family and friends. I have gone with my family. Some portions might be difficult for kids and old people. Yet it is one of the must visit places in the Himalayas.

This was my first experience of trekking in. The Himalayas and let me tell you really awesome .the great Himalayas has always fascinated me... We were group of twenty young chaps, started from gulaba top ...there too lived in the tents which can be rented at very low cost its a better option to stay here a day or two before the trek to bhrigu lake rather than down in manali..the trek took us almost 8km all the way to top, and about 10 hrs, , all tiring reaching to the top..but what an amazing miracle to see bhrigu lake which never freezes, amazing natural marvel..a lake at 14500ft from sea level, almost like the Everest base camp..if u happen to climb just a little higher to the top you can see all the great pics of pir panjal and rob tang to valley also you would need a bare min climbing gear if u trek dying may-july.coming down is another fun , with the high ice slides on the way down.... I consider this as a personal achievement.

Like I heard from others, the Chanderkhani Pass trek in Himachal Pradesh is one of the best ways to stay cut-off from the rest of the world and enjoy the beauty that nature has to offer us. Yes, every bit of this came true as I started this exhilarating trek. It is an ideal way to relax and refresh your mind. Take it atleast once and you will realise this.

As a forest lover, the Rohlikohli forest made me fall madly in love with Mother Nature. Beautiful landscapes make for a very interesting photograph here. There are hidden treasures of nature in these plains and valleys and one must come here asap to see it for themselves!
