About Manchester United
The Greater Manchester neighborhood of Old Trafford is home to the professional football team known as Manchester United Football Club, or simply Man United. It is a globally renowned tourist place to visit in Salford as the Premier League is the top tier of the English football league system, and is where the team participates.
It was established in 1878 as Newton Heath LYR Football Club and was given the nickname "the Red Devils." In 1902, it changed its name to Manchester United. In 1910, the team relocated from Newton Heath to Old Trafford, where it now plays. Manchester United, one of the most popular football teams in the world, competes against Leeds United, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool. With an annual revenue of €676.3 million, Manchester United was the highest-earning football team in the world in 2016–17.

• On the south side of Salford Quays, close to the Bridgewater Canal, lies the home of arguably the most well-known football team in history.
