Ancient Theater of Delphi, Delphi

The Ancient Theater of Delphi, situated on the slopes of Mount Parnassus in central Greece, is a remarkable example of classical Greek architecture. Dating back to the 4th century BCE, the theater is an integral part of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Delphi, one of the most important religious sanctuaries of ancient Greece. With a seating capacity of approximately 5,000, the theater was a central venue for the Pythian Games, which included musical contests, theatrical performances, and religious festivals in honor of Apollo.

The theater's design is notable for its excellent acoustics and the panoramic views it offers of the Delphic landscape and the sanctuary below, including the Temple of Apollo. Constructed primarily from local limestone, the theater has undergone several modifications throughout its history, particularly during the Roman period, which have contributed to its current form.
