Though the gorgeous beauty of nature impressed me but i was not thrilled with this simple trekking expedition, i was looking for a challenging trek, but it was quite easier for me.

A brilliant trip was Hampta pass trek along with Leh visit. We a group of five people from the same college planned a tour to the Himalayas and Hamta Pass, Rohtang Pass, Khardung La Pass etc were our lifetime wishes. We booked a cab to go to these paces. Started from Manali. But the rate of the tour was beyond our expectation since the car was showing some problems after Khardung La. Hampta Pass and Rohtang Pass along with some other places in the neighbourhood were done by trekking. The trek was okay but the nature was amazing. It is full of hills, valleys, steep climbs, trees, streams etc. Exactly like we see in the photos the places are. I was wondering how these places are always the same without any change. Since we were driving the car, we had to drive alternatively. None can continuously drive for a long time on those roads. If you go with a larger group, then you should book a traveler. There are local guides and tour operators also. We can contact them for help. They will arrange accommodation and food. In our case, accommodation was fine. Food we had from hotels we found on the way. Options were less but the food was cheap at all the places we stopped. Hampta pass is a beautiful place to visit especially for photography. I saw hundreds of DSLRs during the visit. Everywhere people are taking photos using the digital cameras. One lakeside camping near Chandra Tal Lake was the best part of this trip. When you look out of your tent, you can see the glittering region and it is a place for star gazing also. I and my friends enjoyed the Hampta pass trek and Leh visit very much. We wish another trip to some other places in the Himalayas like Hampta next year also.

Thrillophilia helped me to book the Hampta Pass trek. I was doubtful in the beginning thinking that whether it will happen or not. But with the help of all of the organizers of the tour, it went well. I am really thankful to for connecting me with the right people. I stated the trip from Delhi. Then went to Manali. The service providers arranged a tourist bus to Chikka first. We moved to Chikka. After reaching Chikka, the trekking trip started. Firstly, we went to some of the places near and the natural beauty of the place surprised me. We met some locals on the way and talked to them. Then camped at Chikka. The food was cooked by the cook in the team. Since we were 12-13 people, we helped the cook in some way. Roti and sabzi was the main item almost every day. We could not ask for any other item since the difficulty in cooking in the cold wind was understandable. But still the guides managed to give us proper food on time. Some small shops were at the junctions and villages. We bought water and biscuits from these shops and continued walking. Balu ka ghera was the next stop and it is one of the most beautiful places in this region. The stream nearby was full of cold water and I understood it is a place of sheep grazing and found some shepherds also. On the third day, we went to the Hampta Pass after trekking up the steep roads. It was difficult a bit but still I enjoyed it a lot. Had to take many breaks between due to the steep climbing. Yet, it was the best trekking route. Chandratal camping was really exciting. That was my first ever camping near a lake and I was shivering throughout the night due to the cold wind blowing from the lake and the mountains. I was covered myself with two blankets. But still I felt really cold then. Though it was with difficulties at many places, especially due to the climatic conditions, I liked the whole trip and more happy about meeting so many new people from different parts of India.

Full fledged trekking trip. Me and my friend went to Hampta in our bike. But after some point, bikes will not be useful. Trekking is the best method to enjoy the area. Full of meadows, valleys, trees, mountains. I liked it very much. A lot of tourists were on the way. In bikes, tourist buses, travelers, cars etc. But trekking was very challenging also. After some hours, we will be tired. Water, energy biscuits, glucose etc should be handy to escape from being too tired. The food you get from the town will not be enough to reach the top most portion after walking so much. But keep the bags light otherwise we have to carry that weight also and finally we cannot finish the trek. Continuously for 7 to 8 hours, we have to climb. Then only we will reach the summit. The views from the top are superb. Photographic location. We stayed in tents pitched ourselves and arranged some campfire outside to prevent the cold. We had to have Maggi, bread, bun and biscuits since there were no hotels or shops at many places during the trek. At major junctions or towns only we can see some shops. Since there are a lot of tourists, we did not feel all alone. Other than tourists, the locals are found in the villages only. They help you find the way to Hampta Pass. While we came back, we came through Rohtang Pass. It was good and tricky. I am not an expert rider at high altitudes. So my friend rode the bike in the pass. Somewhat, it went on really well. The climb to the Hampta Pass is steep. Make your body well prepared to climb such steeps other wise you will become tired very fast. To avoid that, take care of your food intakes before planning the trp. But there is nothing to be worried. You can thoroughly enjoy this Hampta Pass trek.

Who is there without an idea of Hampta Pass Trek? It is the most amazing trek in India, I think. I am writing this review in order to give many people out there an idea about how interesting Hampta Pass trek is. I booked the five day trekking tour starting from Manali. I went to Manali by bus and I met a lot of new people there. Some of them are working in MNCs and took one week leave and came for Hampta Trek. I was happy to see so many people like me. I am not a regular trekker. But every year I visit some place. Hampta Pass was really an exciting trek I have done in my life. Treks were fine and at some places the routes were not that good. The guides helped us very well. But one problem I faced was the phone connection. At many places I did not get connection to contact my family. Every day, we trekked around 7 to 8 hours and at the end of the day we will be tired. I was affected by the altitude sickness too. I did not have any medicine for that. But the guides had some and they helped me during the climbs. But still I wanted to do trekking to reach the top and hence I did not use the back up vehicles. Chandra Tal was the most beautiful place I saw during the whole trip and I really did not want to come back. It is an amazing location. Everyone should try visiting these places at least once.

Hats off to Thrillophilia for making this trek so wonderful for me and our group. The arrangements were too good, terrains were much friendly, challenges were few and finally we completed it with an ease. One thing, do take enough time to get used to the high altitudes or else you might get sick of the change of temperature fall.

The starting point would be Lohajung Pass, a beautiful tourist destination where trekking is easy. Next is Bedni village where you will get steady uphill trekking. where you can see the holy river Ganga. Th entire area is covered with oak and bamboo. Next stoppage will be Ali Bugyal, which i think was the perfect camping point. Then Ghora Lutani to Bhagwasa, the trekking is complex and full of ups and downs. The final destination Roopkund lake is rewarding place and worth visiting. In morning the lake water is cooler and from its top surface the human skeleton bones are visible, which many people think to have sacred importance while other consider it as haunted lake. Above all you will enjoy your trip.

Though I trekked multiple times at multiple locations. And my opinion is trekkers will love this Roopkund trekking ,which is full of challenges and adventures . The mysterious Lake of Roopkund is the prime attraction of the trek . It is believed that this lake's bottom is full of human skeleton which I saw. I would recommend it to first timers too and I know it will be difficult but it is worth the effort. Kudos!

Roopkund Trekking is all a trekker ever needs. Only if you try this trek you will know how awesome it is. Roopkund trekking – WOW! The trekking was awesome and fun. In fact, the trekking was quite a lot more than fun. I would personally recommend this trek, if you are an avid trekker. This might not be as fun as it sounds to others because instead of enjoying the trek you would become tired and frustrated by the trek as you lack experience and stamina. Otherwise this trek is as good as they get.

I have never been on snow treks before and by reading most reviews and travelogues on various treks, I was expecting a lot. However, this was just a fine and an average trek. The level of difficulty is moderate and there is not much to enjoy or rave about this trek. I personally had a nice trek with no complaints as such.

Trekking was a new experience for me and it was a little difficult too. Camping was my favourite part of it all and that too at night when temperature went down to 4 degrees and made our stay even more memorable. Exploring the nearby villages and some temples too was also very interesting because you meet new people and feel the life of people there. Anyways the trek was great we had some ups and downs during the trek but finally we completed it. Thanks to our guide who was helping through out. Thumbs UP!

I hope to go there again because the memories which are created in my mind of this trek will always pursue me to go again.

One of our base camps locations was Ali Bugyal ,Where we had our camps. It was a superb place to stay better than Roopkund lake area. You can explore some beautiful sites in Alibugyal too.as far as trekking is considered, then It is quite moderate with Steep trails and rocky grounds.
