Saurashtra Tour Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Arrival at Ahmedabad and then to Jamnagar 313 KM, 8 hours drive

    Day 1 of Saurashtra tour starts upon your arrival in Ahmedabad, meet your guide and get transferred to Jamnagar. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and take rest.

  • Day 2 - Drive to Dwarka 156 KM, 3 hours drive

    Get ready to begin your drive to Dwarka, visit the Lakhota Lake, Lakhota Museum and the Bala Hanuman Temple on the way as per the Saurashtra tour.

    The Lakhota Lake is a bird watchers paradise.

    Lakhota Museum cum palace was originally a fort. The museum now displays the artifacts and art pieces from the 9th to the 18th century.

    Continue the journey to Dwarka and on arrival check in to the hotel.

    Later, head out to visit the Rukmini Temple and Dwarkadhish temple.

    The Rukmini temple is located just 2 kms away from Dwarka. It is an epitome of the traditional architectural aspects of the state.

    The Dwarkadhish Temple, also known as the Jagat Mandir (universal shrine) or trilok sundar is devoted to Lord Krishna.

    Stay overnight at the hotel after the visit.

  • Day 3 - Dwarka sightseeing

    Proceed to Bet Dwarka, which is a small island, ideal for marine excursions and camping.

    After a 15 minute walk, you will reach the Shri Krishna temple which is 500 years old and also Dandiwala Hanuman Temple is located nearby.

    Also, visit Kachoriyu Temple dedicated to Shri Rama. In this temple, you will be able to witness the sculptures of Garuda (eagle), Shankha (conch shell), Chakra (sharp circular weapon), along with the idol of Lord Hanuman at the entrance.

    The pond situated near the temple is called Kachoriyu Talav.

    If you are interested, go towards the east side of the seashore where you can witness the shrine of Haji Kirmani Pir.

    Following the conclusion of the tour, head back to the hotel and retire for the night.

  • Day 4 - To Somnath via Porbandar (234 KM and 4 hours drive)

    Day 4 of the Saurashtra tour begins by your journey to Somnath via Porbandar in the morning and en route, catch the glimpses of the Tara Mandir Planetarium, Kirti Mandir and Chowpaty.

    At the Tara Mandir Planetarium, special effect movies are shown.

    The Kirti Mandir is yet another famous tourist attraction located at Porbandar.

    Visit the Porbandar Beach as well, also known as Chowpaty. It is encircled by rich greenery.

    Continue travelling to Somnath. Once you arrive at Somnath, check in to your hotel and relax.

    Later, set out to visit Bhalka Tirth and Somnath Temple.

    Come back to the hotel after the visit and stay overnight there.

  • Day 5 - To Rajkot vis Junagadh 181 KM and 5 hours

    In the morning, get ready to go to Rajkot via Junagadh. On the way, visit Uparkot Fort, Ashok Rock Edict and the Junagadh Museum.

    Uparkot is the oldest part of Junagadh built by Chandragupta Maurya.

    The Ashoka Rock Edicts are seen at the foothills of Mount Girnar.

    The Junagadh Museum is known for holding the prehistoric stone and bone implements, 9th-century stone carvings and many bronzes, manuscripts, silverwork, glass crafts, woodcarvings, textiles and other items.

    The Rajkot journey continues afterwards and upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and relax.

  • Day 6 - Visit Rajkot

    In the morning, proceed to Chamunda Mataji Temple at Chotila, located between Ahmedabad and Rajkot as per the Saurashtra tour.

    Then, move to visit the Watson Museum which is regarded as the largest in Gujarat. It has a huge collection of the ancient and traditional artifacts showing the cultural aspects of Saurashtra.

    Visit the Swaminarayan Temple and Naulakha Palace and get back to your hotel by late evening.

    Stay overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 7 - To Ahmedabad vis Gandhinagar 235 KM and 5 hours

    Today, you will be going to Ahmedabad via Gandhinagar. It is one of the most visited tourist centres of Gujarat.

    Visit some of the famous attractions in Gandhinagar such as Akshardham, Swaminarayan Sect, Indroda Nature Park and the Gujarat Science City.

    Continue to reach Ahmedabad and on arrival, check-in to your hotel and relax.

  • Day 8 - Depart from Ahmedabad

    Bid farewell to the beautiful cities of Saurashtra and get dropped at the railway station or airport for your onward journey as Saurashtra tour ends here
