About Pangarchulla Peak Trek:

Pangarchulla Trek Package Inclusions:

  1. Accommodation on a sharing basis (Guesthouse, Homestay, Camping)
  2. Meals- All veg nutritious meals from dinner at Joshimath on Day 1st to breakfast at Joshimath on Day 6th. Morning and evening tea is served with light snacks.
  3. Camping charges – All trekking permits and forest camping charges are included for Indians.
  4. Trekking equipment – High-quality tents, ropes, and sleeping bags in all the camps. Sleeping bags can withstand temperatures as low as -10 ºC.

How to reach Joshimath:

By Air: Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun serves as the nearest airport to Haridwar. Visitors can take a direct flight to Dehradun from Mumbai or Delhi or connecting flights from anywhere in India. Local vehicles can be availed from outside the airport to reach Haridwar by road from Dehradun.

By Rail: Reaching Haridwar By Trains - Haridwar Junction Railway Station (IR station code: HW) is well-connected by train, with frequent trains to Delhi (4-5 hours) and Dehradun (1 hour). There are also a few trains per day to Rishikesh.

By Road: Haridwar is well connected by roads to all major cities and towns, so people as per their choice and comfort can take the bus to reach Haridwar smoothly. Haridwar is connected to Chandigarh (205km), Delhi (210km), Dehradun (59km), and Nainital (223km) through a good network of roads.

Note: 

  • You can get to Joshimath from Haridwar by bus or by hiring a taxi. Transportation from Thrillophilia can be availed at extra cost.
  • If you are a group of 5 or more people then the dates can be customized.

Pangarchulla Trek Uttarakhand Itinerary

Day 1
Drive from Rishikesh – Joshimath (6,750ft, drive of 256 km, 9 hour)
  • Altitude: 6,750ft, 256 km drive, approx 9 hours
  • Trekkers will be picked from Haridwar at 6:30 am in a Tata Sumo or a similar vehicle (cost is not included) / Arrive at Joshimath approx by 5 pm – (tea, briefing of the trek & dinner)
  • Breakfast and Lunch on the way (exclusive of charges)
  • Accommodation at the guest house

Day 2
Drive from Joshimath to Dhak village 10 km. Then trek uphill to Gulling 6 km.
  • Drive to Dhak (7000 ft) – 10 Km, 30 minutes. Trek to Guling (9,650) ft – 6 Km, 5 hours. Camp
  • Altitude: 9,650 Ft. Time taken: Approx. 6 hrs Trek gradient: Moderate, Water sources: You can fill your bottles in the Kharchi village
  • Start your day with a delectable breakfast and after a short drive of 10 km reach the point where you can begin hiking to gulling.
  • Witness the giant mountains in front of you, and the most pampered mountain which is known as sleeping Lady Mountain, the creation of God is just amazing.
  • From the meadows, continue trekking through verdant forests thriving with a variety of bird species and reach the beautiful prairies.
  • Climb down to arrive at another expanse of thickets with Oak, Chestnut, Deodar, and Maple trees.
  • Continue walking on the path again you will witness the outstanding Dronagiri peak that will make your heart go numb and later we will reach the Gulling top, home for the day.
  • Set up camp here in tents and retire for the night under the star-lit sky.


Day 3
Guling to to lower Khullara camp – total 12 Km- 6/7 hours
  • Begin with an early breakfast after which you can start your trek, climbing up pastures painted in several colors of green and dotted with shepherds and their sheep grazing around.
  • The trail today is quite steep through Oak, Rhododendron (mostly pink and white), Walnut forest
  • At the base camp lower khullara camp, settle down in your tents for the night.
Day 4
Lower Khullara to Pangarchulla summit (15069 ft), 6 hours and back to lower Khullara – total 12 Km – 10/11 hours
  • Lower Khullara (11,100 ft) to Pangarchulla summit (15069 ft), 6 hours, and back to lower Khullara – total 12 Km – 12/14 hours. A strenuous and challenging summit day. Camp
  • Altitude: 15,069 Ft, Time taken: Approx. 15 hrs Trek gradient: Moderate to Difficult, Water sources: Bring your water bottles
  • Begin your day early at about 5:00 AM with a hearty breakfast after which you can start your day’s trek by ascending slopes of mountains to arrive at a ridge taking you to the summit.
  • This challenging climb passes through uneven rocky terrains.
  • Walk across deep snowy routes and due to the early start, get awestruck by the clear mesmeric views during dawn.
  • On this route to the top of the Pangarchulla peak, the Mt. Nanda Devi, Trishul, Changabhang peaks are a spectacle to the eye.
  • Spend some time feasting your eyes with the marvels before you resume walking down to the camp.
  • Upon reaching the camp, celebrate the success of the trek and unwind here.
  • You can even opt to trek down to Khullara if you arrive early at the base camp.
  • Spend the night in the comfort of your tent.


Day 5
Lower Khullara to Joshimath | Altitude: 6,724 Trekking 11 km trek and 12 km drive
  • Breakfast will be served early in the morning, after which you will start your journey to Joshimath.
  • Have your lunch on the way.
  • Reach Joshimath by late afternoon.
  • Have your evening tea followed by a debriefing session.
  • The rest of the evening is free for leisure.
  • Have your dinner and call it a day.
  • Overnight stay in Joshimath.
Day 6
Joshimath to Rishikesh | 8 hours drive
  • Post breakfast group will depart for Rishikesh with your heart and soul full of memories.
  • Your tour concludes once you are dropped at Rishikesh. (approx 255 kms drive)
  • Note: On Day 6, you’ll reach Haridwar between 6 pm and 7 pm. You can book your travel any time after 8 pm.
