Trip Location: Negombo
Negombo, in Sri Lanka refers to a peaceful town, which is
situated on the west coast of Sri Lanka. The location is occupied with
beautiful white sandy beaches and sparkling blue water bodies. Apart from being
one of the commercial hot spots of Sri Lanka, the location is famous for its
wide range of seafood items and its rich cultural composition.
About the Activity:
With this package, grab the opportunity of exploring Sri
Lanka’s typical fishing village Negombo on two wheels. Don't miss out the
chance of witnessing fishermen’s living style and see hundreds of fishermen
working for their daily bread in harmony. Experience the hustle and bustle of
the Sri Lankan town and learn the techniques of bargaining in the markets.
The package comes with comfortable hotel pickup and drop off
with water bottles and refreshment. The package also provides with cycles and
helmets in addition to backup vehicles and first aid. You shall also be
provided with the service of a cycling guide. The package is inclusive of all government
taxes.
Timings: The duration of the package is 4 hours which starts
from 6.30 am and ends at 10.30 am.
Starting/Ending Point:
The package provides a comfortable pick up and drop-off facility from
your hotel in Negombo.

6:30: Start a cycling tour from your hotel in Negombo, which is the biggest Fishing city in Sri Lanka. The Fishing Village also is known as the Lellama by the locals is located across the lagoon bridge, near the Old Dutch Gate. The large open-air fish market is the second largest in the country. It gives you an unpretentious insight into the local fisher community. The market is loud, vibrant and smells like fish!
8:00: Cycle through the fishing village. During your cycling tour, you will see a multitude of boats full of fresh fish coming in and lowering their sails. The smaller fishing boats usually come first, followed by the larger vessels. You can see their nets being pulled ashore and the catch shaken out of nets to be cleaned, scaled, gutted, salted and dried in the sun. While you are cycling you can visit one of fishing houses and taste cup of tea.
10:30: You will cycle through coconut estate and then end the tour at your Hotel.
