About the Tour:
Starting with your arrival in this otherworldy beautiful country, you will be taking a day to relax and get rid of the jet lag. As the tour moves, you will be taking a cultural tour of the capital Reykjavik, visiting the Aurora Northern Lights Center and the Whale bay near Akranes. You will also go to Borgarfjordur for an experience of the Viking life. If you are lucky, you will get to see the northern lights today. The experience next day continues to dazzle you as you go for trying the Viking sushi and go to see the Snaefellsnes National Park. On the second last day of the tour, you will be riding on the famous Golden Circle of Iceland, covering major destinations like Gullfoss, Geysir, and Thingvellir National Park. In this 5 days and 4 nights, there is a guarantee that you will fall in love with this unique and beautiful country.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Reykjavik Arrival

    After arrival at the capital, Reykjavik, and at the hotel, the rest of the day is for you to enjoy at your leisure.

    Overnight at Reykjavik.

  • Day 2 - Cultural Day Tour | Aurora Northern Lights Center | Akranes

    The morning will start with a tour of the capital of Iceland, so after breakfast, depart on a tour of Reykjavik.

    Visit the beautiful Harpa Concert Hall and enjoy the architecture of the building of the Hallgrimskirkja church.

    Also, you will be visiting the Aurora Northern Lights Centre for a presentation on the famous Northern Lights of Iceland.

    You will then travel through the undersea tunnel under the Hvalfjordur (Whale Bay) and reach the friendly town of Akranes. Here, you will visit the local Museum Centre that houses artifacts of geological and maritime importance, followed by climbing a lighthouse for an unbeatable view of the coast.

    From here, the tour heads to Borgarfjordur for the authentic Viking experience.

    You will be learning a lot of history in Reykholt. Followed by this, see the churning waters of Deildartunguhver which is an amazing and big hot spring.

    Towards the end of the day, you will be going to see two wonderful waterfalls of Iceland, Hraunfoss and Barnafoss.

    Evening Northern Lights Hunt: Due to the location in West Iceland away from light pollution, your group is in a prime position to hunt for the luminescent green light show that Vikings believed were Valkyries riding across the sky.

    Overnight in the Borgarfjordur area.

  • Day 3 - Viking Sushi | Snaefellsnes National Park

    After breakfast, you will be going to the wonderful town of Stykkisholmur where you will sail in the Breidafjordur Bay of international acclaim.

    Here, you will also taste the 'Viking Sushi", made from ingredients caught straight from the boat.

    You will be gliding around the area called Snaefellsnes Peninsula also known as “Iceland in a Nutshell”. You will be Coming across a variety of landscapes here, like volcanoes, beaches, cliffs and the amazing Snaefellsjokull glacier-volcano.

    See fishing villages like Grundarfjordur, with its landmark Kirkjufell Mountain or Hellnar with a year-round population of fewer than ten people.

    Evening Northern Lights Hunt: If weather conditions the night before were unfavorable, there is another hunt for the elusive Aurora Borealis. Ideal meteorological conditions include a clear sky with icy temperatures and, preferably, no moon.

    Overnight again in Borgarnes area.

  • Day 4 - Golden Circle | Gullfoss | Geysir | Thingvellir National Park

    After breakfast today, you will be hitting the famous Golden Circle of Iceland.

    See the beautiful Gullfoss waterfall and explore the Geysir hot spring region on the Golden Circle, complete with bubbling mud pits.

    Visit the Thingvellir National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The highlight of this place is that it is the home to the world's oldest ongoing parliament.

    The park is also where you will see the ridge of the meeting of North American and Eurasian plates.

    Visit Fridheimar, which is a greenhouse and horse breeding farm to get an up-close experience of the famous Icelandic horses. You will also get to know how the farmers here grow vegetables using the hot water of the springs.

    Return to Reykjavik on road and overnight stay here.

  • Day 5 - Check-out and Return

    Check out and travel to the airport to catch your flight back home. This brings the experience to an end.
