About the Activity
Arrive at the Queen Alia International Airport where you’ll be greeted by a travel expert.
Drive through olive groves to the ancient Roman city of Jerash.
Explore its colonnaded streets, temples and theatres, a well-preserved reminder of the grandeur of the Roman Empire.
Proceed to the Castle of Qalaat Errabat in Ajlun, built by Muslims in 1184 for protection against Crusaders, and stand at the ramparts.
From here, you can gaze out at a panoramic view of the Jordan Valley.
Then head to your hotel, just in time for dinner, before sleeping off your first day.
After a leisurely breakfast, take a quick city tour of Jordan's capital, Amman, and stop by the Cittadel and the Roman amphitheatre.
Make your way to Madaba, the City Of Mosaics, which houses the famous earliest surviving original map of the Holy Land.
Continue on to Mt. Nebo from where, according to the Bible, Moses looked upon the Holy Land.
From the summit, stand and see, as Moses did, the sweeping vista of the Jordan River valley, the Dead Sea, Jericho and a glimpse of Jerusalem’s spires and rooftops in the far distance.
Head back to the hotel for dinner and some well-deserved rest.
Travelling from Amman to Petra today, stop en route to visit Umm Ar-Rasas, an archaeological site mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments, and now is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Then prepare yourself for the stunning scenery at Mukawir.
Continue to Karak, and explore a Crusader castle.
After lunch, you’ll be driven to Petra for dinner and a good night’s sleep.
After a hearty breakfast of fatayer jebneh (cheese pastries) and a cup of fresh mint tea, embark on a day’s tour of Jordan’s most famous attraction, Petra.
Take a horseback ride through the deep and twisting gorge of red sandstone to emerge upon the colossal sunlit facade of Al- Khazneh – The Treasury. Wander about hundreds of rock-hewn monuments cut with a refinement that's hard to believe.
Transfer to the Dead Sea for dinner and some rest at your hotel.
The Bible comes to life with today’s journey to Al Maghtas or Bethany beyond the Jordan.
Here, it is said, John the Baptist baptised his followers, among them Jesus himself. For many, this is the literal birthplace of Christianity itself.
After your visit, drive to the Dead Sea for some leisure time sunbathing, swimming or simply floating in the water.
After you have rinsed the salt from your body, drive back to Amman for a spot of dinner and tuck in for the night.
This morning, join other pilgrims visiting The Mount Mary Church in Anjara. The church was built over a cave where, it is believed, Jesus, Mary and the disciples rested during a journey.
Enjoy a delicious traditional lunch, after which you’ll get to see Khirbet-el-Wahadneh and the hills of Gilead, a sacred site said to be the birthplace of the Prophet Elijah.
Drive back to Amman to enjoy dinner and your final night in Jordan.
You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the airport for your departure.
