The trek was exciting and awesome. It was just the best place to trek and have camps. Doing it in winter was the biggest good decision that I took in my life. It was an awesome and a nice experience that I had recently. I loved it totally. The trek was indeed costly, but it was totally worthy for the experience that I gathered.

The trek was good. One may not call it great, but this trek was fine and interesting. It was neither too costly nor too cheap. It was of moderate level difficulty. The only issue with this trek was that the food and stay options were pretty lousy. It was indeed a fine trek. This trek needs a lot of stamina, so take this only if you are fit enough.

A big tip from me to you, if you are taking this trek is that take this trek in winter. Winter in India is pretty confusing. Actually, not many know but on the Kedarkantha trek, the winter snow will only set in by the middle of December. The good news is that it will last until the last week of April. Most people blindly take this in October thinking that is the winter time, but no. Take this in January that is the best time to take this trek. I took it this January 3rd week and I came across snow? just as I crossed the 10,000 feet mark. It was amazing to see snow lying on the forest floor among the gigantic pine trees. When I finally reach the meadows, what I saw made me go crazy. I saw a huge blanket of white around me in literally every direction.

The skiing session is pretty much the same for like around 5 days. It starts with a mild briefing and the instructions were given at the starting of the day. After this, we started skiing. At around 1.30 or 2 pm, we had lunch and got to spend the rest of the day in leisure. The instructors are available at this time to help us either discuss or practice techniques. At the evenings, there was a video session on skiing techniques. After that, we had campfire where we had a lot of indoor and outdoor activites to get indulged in. We also took long walks around the lodge as it is a big private property.

The surroundings, the landscape, the scenaries, the bird’s eye view, and the river valleys were all breathtakingly and astoundingly brilliant. The trek was of moderate level difficulty; thus it was enabling all trekkers to enjoy it. One might feel that this trek was tough or rough, but with ample warm-ups and pre trained strengthening, I shall say that even first timers can enjoy this provided they are fit enough for this. The climate was also good all along the trek making it the best trek ever.

I have taken this trek a few times now. Once in summer and a couple of times in the winter! If you want to experience the ice walk, take only in winter as in the summers, the region will be vibrant but obviously there will be no ice. It was all filled with colours of the nature, flora. It will be charmingly beautiful. I have taken this trek during August to October for a couple of years. When I took this trek in the October month, i.e., during the winter, it was awesome. It was indeed the right time to do trekking. This place was totally filled with ice and snow.

This is highly safe even for solo travellers. I totally recommend this. Cons: Travel to this place is a literal pain. The transport facilities are not that great. The travel guide speaks only Hindi and at times it’s quite annoying and tough to understand instructions. Overall, it was indeed a good and a nice experience.

Skiing in Auli course is the best course to take for beginners. It is designed for people who want to learn the basics of skiing. This is done under set of expert instructors in a very small group. This way one can learn very easily. Due to the 1:6 instructor-student ratio, the learning is quick and there is a lot of personal attention to each of us. Hands on training is also given, which is very important when it comes to learning the basics of this sport.

I went over here with my other school guides and I had some good and bad experiences too. Towards the pro side- the trek was amazing and great, charges were nominal and affordable, and to the con- the food was not that satisfactory though.
