About the Activity:

Fixed Departures: June 11, 2016, July 2, 2016, July 23, 2016, August 13, 2016

  • Also known as North America's "The Last Frontier," Alaska has always been the crown jewel for adventure travelers.
  • Embark on this tour of Alaska and challenge yourself with some impassable weather conditions.
  • During the course of 9 days and 8 nights you will be travelling to Anchorage, Seward, Homer, Hope and conclude your trip in Anchorage.
  • The tour will include all the meals, transport throughout the tour and accommodation.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 -

Start off your vacation flying into stunning scenery overlooking the Chugach, Alaskan, Kenai, and Talkeetna mountain ranges.

After your flight into this urban wilderness, make your way to our accommodations for the 6 pm pre-departure meeting followed by a group meal. Take this evening to get to know your fellow travelers and guides.

You can also indulge in a full day World Famous Brooks River Alaskan Brown Bear viewing in the Katmai National Park, which will cost your around $650 to $850, payable on the spot.

  • Day 2 -

After breakfast travel to Seward which will be around a half day drive to Anchorage.

Located on the east side of the Kenai Peninsula and Resurrection Bay, Seward is known as the "Gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park."

After reaching, relax and spend some time at leisure and enjoy the scenic waterfront of city.

Next day, head for the cruise ride in the Kenai Fjords National Park while you explore the same and get a chance to witness some of the most beautiful wildlife.

After that, head to visit the Calvin Glacier. The complete journey will take around 6 hours where the lunch will be served on the boat.

Later, hike along the mesmerizing Exit Glacier with a high probability of seeing a few of the local black bear feeding on some berries.

The 8.2-mile round trip up to the Harding Icefield is a spectacular day hike. Starting on the valley floor, the trail winds through cottonwood and alder forests, passes though heather filled meadows and ultimately climbs well above tree line to a breath-taking view of the Harding Icefield. The top of the trail is a window to past ice ages - a horizon of ice and snow that stretches as far as the eye can see! If you don’t feel prepared to do the full 8.2-mile roundtrip, there are shorter options with equally breathtaking views available.

This is for Day 2 to 4.

  • Day 5 -

    Next stop will be Homer.

Located on the western side of the Kenai Peninsula and Kachemak Bay, Homer is the launching point for our two-night Adventure Camp.

On the way to Homer there will be enough time for some scenic photo stops and short hikes. Depending on the time of the year stop to watch the Salmon Running up Russian River or visit one of the orthodox churches overlooking the volcanoes on the other side of the bay.

Arrive early in Homer and start your exploration of this beautiful artistic town and it's fishermen culture.

  • Day 6 -

After breakfast, take a boat ride from Homer to Seldovia, landing on this lovely and relatively untouched beach of the peninsula.

Upon reaching Sendovia, camping will be done in canvas tents with beds and all the amenities.

During our stay, there will be a beautiful main house where meals, comfortable chairs, coffee and tea are always on tap.

On this day, embark on the hikes amidst the beautiful landscapes of Sendovia.

The next day have a half day of sea kayaking around Seldovia Bay, frequently visited by sea otters and harbor seals and watched overhead by bald and golden eagles.

In the evening the owner will be serving their famous salmon dinner for us!

This is for Day 6 and 7.

  • Day 8 -

In the morning either go on the optional flight to Katmai NP or Lake Clark to see the famous grizzlies or take the water taxi back to Homer to have a few hours in Homer before heading off to Hope.

Hope is a quaint little town overlooking Cook Inlet and Turnagain Arm and is just a short drive from Anchorage yet; there is still plenty to do here from gold panning, hiking, and bird watching.

In the summer during weekends there might be some life concerts going on in the local fishermen bar.

After reaching Hope just relax and spend your time at leisure,

In the evening, stroll around the beautiful town and at night go for a good night sleep in the bushcamps.

  • Day 9 -

Today it’s only a short drive around the Turnagain Arm back to Anchorage.

On the way stop at the famous Beluga Point where there is a chance to witness Beluga Whales or Dall Sheep.

In the afternoon explore Anchorage downtown which is a lively city that houses almost 50% of the state’s 730,000 people

The trip ends today in the afternoon.
