The only way to reach Pawna Lake from Lonavala is by road. There are two routes that are usually used to go from Lonavala to Pawna Lake- Dudhiwade Khind Road and Kamshet Road.
Route 1: via Dudhiwade Khind Road
This is the quickest route from Lonavala to Pawna Lake, measuring 108 km, but the road might get tricky at times. The major toll plazas you pass through are Lonavala, Bhangarwadi, Dudhiwade Khind before you reach Pawna Lake.
Route 2: via Kamshet Road
The Kamshet route is 122 km long and thus takes a little more time than the Dudhiwade Khind Road. This route is via the old Mumbai Pune highway and passes through Lonavala, Kamshet, Pawnanagar, and finally reaches Pawna Lake.
A non-AC taxi from Lonavala to Pawna Lake generally charges around 10 INR per km. If you start off at the Lonavala Railway Station, then you can avail of the jeep services available there. The jeeps are less costly and would cost you 2000 INR each way, provided you share it with 9 other people, but all this depends on whether or not you are going in peak season!
