Saiwa Swamp National Park is the smallest national park of Kenya. Spread over an area of 3 square km, the park was created as a habitat for the Sitatunga which is a rare aquatic antelope. Kitale Nature Conservancy looks more like a place that which has been designed by the Frankenstein after he converted to Christianity and dropped acid. Highlights: Kitale Nature Conservancy is an incredible place that is great for play parks and picnics. Some of the significant activities here include bird watching and spotting of the butterfly. This conservancy is a part of the Cherangani hills ecosystem and the Mt Elgon. The woodlands and the grasslands used to be the home of the vast variety of wildlife that has been wiped out due to hunting. This effort now reveals a variety of Rothschild giraffes, Sitatunga, Kongoni, Reed Buck, Black Rhino, Bongo and elephants. Kitale Museum is the first domestic museum that was opened in Kenya. It was opened for the general public in the year 1924. Highlights: Kitale Museum was initially known as the Stoneham Museum that was christened after the Colonel Hugh Stoneham who was a major collector and contributor of the artefacts that were held within the Museum until his death that occurred in the year 1966. Only in the year 1974, when the museum was established by the National museums of Kenya it was renamed as Kitale Museum. Location: The Kitale Museum is located on Kwanza - Kapenguria Rd, Kitale, Kenya Timings: You can make a visit to the Kitale Museum on Monday to Friday from 8 in the morning to 6 in the evening. On Saturday and Sunday, the museum stays shut. Price: For adults, the admission fee is KSH 500 while for the children the entry fee is KSH 250.
