PARQUE DE SERRALVES

Inaugurated on June 21st, 2006, Parque de Serralves is a Cultural Foundation with a museum, park, and beautiful gardens. The park was built keeping modernism in mind and is categorized with many sections which have their own characteristics. Located in the heart of Porto, the park has a beautiful Serralves House which is an art deco building from the 1930s, a Contemporary Art Museum, and an auditorium. 

Once you enter the park you can see the garden around a 500-meter central axis and it is said to project the direction of the Douro river. It further extends to lawns, flower beds, and sloping waterfalls. Once you reach the end of the garden, you can also find a stairway that leads down to a small lake that is called a "Romantic lake".

Some of the most beautiful elements in the park are the lily pond, rose gardens, and beautiful fountains. The park also plays an important part in promoting cultural and environmental quality in the city and hosts many programs throughout the year.
