PARQUE DA CIDADE DO PORTO

Visit the largest urban park in Porto which is spread across 205 acres and experience staying away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Inaugurated in the year 1993. the park took 3 years to plan and was built by renowned French architects Robert Auzelle and Sidónio Pardal. The beautiful earth-supporting walls, granite stones, and other elements help the park reach a countryside atmosphere. 

Stroll across many networks of paths that are almost 620 miles long and have many rest areas for you to relax. You can witness more than 74 species of trees and many insects and animals such as geese, swans, and reptiles among many others. The park also has a flea market which is open every Saturday and you can buy fresh produce and also many organic and biological products.

The Pavilhão da Água is a structure built in the park by Alexandre Burmeste that gives you an illusion of being suspended in the air. You can also learn to observe optical illusions and other things such as how a tornado forms. The park also hosts many events in its beautiful large green space throughout the year including the most famous Primavera Sound Porto.
