Musikhuset Aarhus Overview

Musikhuset Aarhus, also known as Aarhus Concert Hall, is the largest Concert Hall in Scandinavia, located in the city centre of Aarhus, Denmark. The place was designed by Aarhus architects Kjær & Richter and was open to the public in 1982. Currently, the music powerhouse has 10 stages and 7 halls which serves as a setting for more than 1500 annual events. The magnificent acoustics and beautiful architecture of the music house, along with works of art in its decor, attract people to come and watch operas, theatres, dance performances, comedy shows, musicals, concerts and children’s shows at its various halls and stages.

The Concert Hall is also the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, The Jutland Opera, The Jutland Conservatory of Music, Teaterhuset Filuren and the Danish National Opera.Apart from these, the music house also hosts shows by the biggest musicians to Aarhus, making Musikhuset, the music centre in the Nordics.

By Car: Musikhuset Aarhus is located 1.7 km from the city centre, it will take 6 min via the Vester Allé route.

By Bus: Take a bus to Aarhus Rutebilstation station which is 700 m away from the music house. You can reach the location from the bus station with a 9-minute walk.

By Train: Take a train to Aarhus station which is 500 m from the hall. You can reach the location from the train station with a 7-minute walk via Banegårdspladsen.

By Light Rail: Take a light rail to the Aarhus Light Rail stop which is 450 m from the music house. You can reach the location from the light rail station with a 6-minute walk via Banegårdspladsen.

By Foot: If you travel from the city centre on foot to reach Musikhuset Aarhus, you will need to walk for 1.4 km via Christiansgade to reach in 20 minutes.

Best Time To Visit

Musikhuset Aarhus hosts events throughout the year, and its Foyer is open every day of the week from 11 am to 6 pm. The best season is during the spring from April to June when the weather is pleasant and ideal for attending various events hosted at Musikhuset Aarhus
