Malana Village Trek is one of the popular Trekking spots in Himachal near Chandra Khanni Pass. Malana is a tribal village, which is considered as the oldest democracy in the world. The trek ends at the Baralacha Pass on the Manali-Leh road.

This trek lies a little ahead of the beautiful Chandra Khanni Pass in the tiny village of Malana, an isolated community that has its own language, customs and laws, governed by a parliament of village elders called Koram.

This easy to perform trek leads us through picturesque and pleasing landscape, birch forests, rhododendron bushes, lush meadows which offer awe-inspiring views - from the snow-capped Dhaula Dhar to the south, to Hanuman Tibba at the head of the Solang Valley and the Ghalpo peaks in Lahaul. The appropriate periods to visit this are, March to June and May to Nov. The permission must be obtained by the head of the villagers to visit the important places in the village. There are nearly 1100 persons in the village.

The people of Malana are rough and tough. We will visit Rumsu, which is located in Kullu. There is the Roerich art Gallery, Nicholas Roerich Art Museum is situated at Naggar village. It exposes the tourists to the rich historicity of Himachal Pradesh.

There is the snowy range of the area lying between the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges in the Bara Banghal area of the Central Himachal Pradesh. After then we will visit the Parbati valley, hemmed in by giant pinnacled mountain peaks. It twists west from the glaciers and snowfields.

Day 01: Drive Delhi to Manali.

On the very first day, we will start from Delhi to Manali (2050m) this journey will take 10 to 11 hrs.

Day 02: Manali to Ganachalani

On the second day, we will drive from Manali to Ganachalani which will take 5-6hrs to reach. There will be an hour to drive from Manali to Naggar. While moving further visit the Roerich art Gallery and proceed on the trek which takes 2-3 hrs to the village of Rumsu. In Rumsu there is an ancient wooden temple. We will proceed further through the dense mixed forest to reach the campsite by evening.

Day 03: Ganachalani to below Chanderkhani Pass

In the morning after having light breakfast, we will move to Ganachalani to below Chanderkhani Pass, it will take (3650m) 5-6 hrs to reach. This trail comes out of the woods to the beautiful meadows used for grazing cattle by the villagers. Here you will be enchanted by the panoramic views of the high mountains of the Pir Panjal range and the Bara Banghal ranges.

Day 04: Across Chanderkhani Pass to Dadru

On this day, after having light food, we will proceed further to Chanderkhani Pass (3650m) to Dadru(3000m), which takes around 5-6hrs. There will be a short walk up to the pass early in the morning gives some really impressive views extending from the peaks in the Lahaul to those of the Parbati valley on one side and the small hills on the other. This trek goes down the meadows and the summer settlements. Then after before winding through we will visit the forest of silver fir and oak to reach Dadru

Day 05: Dadru to Malana

Early morning, on fifth day, we will have our breakfast and will start our journey from Dadru to Malana which will take 3 hrs. It will be easy to reach the village of Malana, an isolated village which has been able to preserve its ancient look and feel.

Day 06: Malana to Jari hrs and drive to Kullu

On 6th day, after having light food, we will take a 4-5 hrs journey from Malana to Jari. From there, we can drive to Kullu. Jari is on the Manikaran Kullu road and the drive from here to Kullu takes about an hour and a half.

Day 07:

On last we will drive Kullu to Delhi, which will take 9-10 hrs.
